Any slinky experts out in attendance enjoy an assessment on this?
I took my seal lynx point bengal over to my moms for 2 weeks while I moved places, and she has about 6 cats that he hadn't met previously. My mom told me the other cats didn't get along with him. (he's extremely sociable with humans and cats) When my mom dropped him stern off he was unusually ecstatic and hugely relieved to see me, like the reunion of Christian the lion with his owners.
The following day my cat be doing some things he wasn't supposed to so I raised my voice and went to keep him from clawing something and he tensed up, started wince and tearing from his eyes. Every time after that when I raised my voice at him for doing something he shouldn't be doing he would get the most horrible facial expression and cower where on earth he stood, tears and all. Can this mental trauma be corrected somehow? How likely is it temporary?
Give it acid dude
I have have a few cats with similar behavior.
cats are not that complicated, i don't think that it is mental. I think possibly your mom let him get away near a lot and spoiled him. cats don't take anything personally, they aren't close to dogs.
don't worry, if you are feeding and giving your cat the love it wishes then he won't act that way for long.
Answers: I've never certain a cat to act this way. Did you ask your mom if anyone have treated him roughly, or yelled at him, while he was at her house?
Pick him up and give him lots of "cuddles", so that he know you still love him.and you're not going to "send him away" again!
Your poor cat must be miserable.he finally gets domestic and you're yelling at him! Hope this gets worked out soon.
Good luck..
Why do you keep raising your voice to him? He just go thru a tramatic experience (even being away from you would be bad ample without the other cats bothering him). He just wants to know that he is safe and sound again and that you love him.
he is within a new house.. for the second time recently it will filch him a time to settle - keep him in a smaller part of the domestic to adjust for a while - like a bathroom or bedroom - let him relax.. I hope your mom kept him in a small room not out beside the other cats..
