Any apposite tips on kittens?
What are some good tips for cat (kitten) owners...Any advice on how to get him to stop jump on things hes not suppose to be on?
Answers: Get them at a proper age will resolve most of your "problems". Kittens younger then 3 months old have to be qualified what they can and can't do. Up to age 10 weeks they need critical time with mom and siblings to learn module about behavior, social, and psychological behavior. Taking them before 10 weeks will result in greatly of "bad" behaviors that people get really frustrated with.
You enjoy to be consistent in what you allow or don't allow. Kittens are hard-headed at times (like teenagers) and will do things you don't want them to do. Never hit a cat for doing something wrong. Saying NO in a loud voice or clapping hands to stop them normally works the best.
When I had kittens (they didn't leave home till 4 months old) they be taught by me not to climb curtains, how to use the treehouse scratching posts (mom really taught them that), and how to be correct babies when they went to their new homes.
I got lots compliments on how well trained my kittens were compared to others they had within the past.
The biggest thing is to not adopt a kitten till they are close to 3 months old.
Use duck cassette! if you don't want the kitten jump on the table, put some duck tape on the table, when the kitten lunge on the duck tape, he/she will hates the duck tape, and he/she won't lunge on that place again...but you need time to try..he/she might go back one or two times until that time it works.
