Anyone else enjoy a uncontained nutbar for a cat?
This isn't really a huge problem, but I'd like some input just to see what other cat owners have experienced.
I own four cats in my household, each of whom has claimed a different human as 'theirs'. I love them adjectives very much, but I am most fond of the one who has decided to adopt me as her favorite human within the house. She runs to greet me at the door when I come home (I'm the only person that she'll procure off her butt for) and always finds me for cuddling or a game of fetch (yep... apparently cats do this). However, she's completely bonkers.
I know it's adjectives for a cat to nip you if you've been petting them too much, but once my cat gets going she won't stop. She's smacked me, claws extended, within the face and has bitten me in many painful places- the most notable being my eyelid. Whenever one of the other cats is surrounded by the vicinity, completely minding their own business, she will attack them rather ferociously. She also frequently neglects to use her litter box and pees everywhere. She was on meds for this behaviour and it didn't really lend a hand. Since we took her off them she's been more playful and active, but she's no smaller amount cranky.
I figure there's no way to change anything, and I don't intellect all that much... I just wondered if any of you have any similar experiences, or any ideas as to why she may be doing this... she's been a little crazy adjectives her life.
omg! i am going through something similar! i only just got a 15 week old boy kitten named smokey. i also enjoy an adult cat named bg. smokey thinks i am his mom... literally. he does the exact same stuff that you mentioned( exept for playing fetch) + he sucks on my ear. habitually, i will wake up with a hickey on my ear! i don't know what to do either!
I have had a cat stay over for a few months and we used a device called feliway. Its a bottle of fluids on a plug and you put within the electricity socket. It spreads a smell humans cant smell, but it is similar to mother cats hormones. It makes cats more mellow and less agressive. You should give that a try.
Your cat sounds like the boss of the house, tolerate her be and try to let the cats out often.
You said she be on medication. Obviously a vet must have recommended this. Speak to your vet again. I would not tolerate this behaviour and it certainly is not just unpredictable but downright dangerous. Let your Vet advise you ASAP
I have 3 cats that have adjectives claimed me as their human and they can all be boisterous at times, but they do not bite me anywhere, they will sometimes swipe me with their paws but near are no claws.
It sounds like your cat has an aggression problem.
I would stop playing with her and not cuddle her whether she bites or scratches and don't play to hard with her when you are playing.
I'm sorry but this is not commonplace especially if she has claimed you as her human. The culture they claim are the ones they are nicest too.
I remember my aunt use to have a considerable siamese male that use to be quite vicious. The cat was extraordinarily protective of his owners and the house. when we came to visit everyone knew not to purely walk into the house. When we would knock the cat would stand on its hinds and claws drawn ram the door. Very strange. Like it was a guard dog but next to the techniques of lion i guess.
Answers: From my personal experience with my cats, and from what I have read here, I'd speak she is behaving normally for a cat. The attacking other cats is a territorial thing, so is the wet. You might try Feliway for the wetting, it calms them so they don't feel as threatened. I also didn't own any luck with the medication. It made my cats like zombies. My cat is a little crazy too. I reckon thats why I love her so much : )
