Anyone else hold a cat who hits u and meows to rouse you up at dark?
<-----My cat, Willow, claws at me and meows in the middle of the night, EVERY night. He have been doing this for 4 whole years, and I
used to stick him in another room so I could sleep... 6 mo. ago I have to move into a really small studio- so I cannot do this any more.
He absolutely LOVES to sleep in the bed with me, as close as possible, on my leader or in my arms- it is cute but I
am one of those people with bleak insomnia, and really cannot "cuddle" too close to anything or I just can't sleep. He also has a tendency to "knead" within the middle of the night, even out at my face! He has many times scared me awake this way. He is a very incredibly clingy cat... His breed is a Siberian- if that may have something to do with it. I own tried buying him a cozy bed- he would not fall for it. It is driving me nuts... I have a 5 mo. old as ably who he tends to wake up with meows whether I don't let him in the covers.
my cat does that to me because she wants to capture up and curl next to my head on my bed when I am trying to sleep
My brothers cat Copy used to poke us in the eye. He didn't always do it but it was irritating. My cat like to lick my nose (yuk!) but she seems to have out grown that. Just bequeath him extra attention the move is stressful and a new kitty in the house may form him feel unloved. Good Luck!
He basically wants attention most likely. My cat always wake me up wanting me to pet her. Try pushing him away after petting him a while.
My friends cat does.
When I spent the dark over at his house, his sisters' cat came into the guest room and starting pushing my face. I tell her, "What?" and she starts to purr.
I have a cat that occasionally meows too. Cats are by spirit nocturnal, they are built for night time activities. Your cat wants to play and clearly considers you "mom". If you can, save your kitty awake during the day as much as you can, lots of play and distractions (catnip helps). Buy or make your kitty a bed that is thaw out and consider a stuff animal for your kitty to sleep with. Put a small blanket in the bed and put it at the foot of your bed. Some cats like to sleep contained by dark places so consider putting your bed in a box that it can go inside (but not during the hours of daylight!).
To stop the middle of the night attacks get a squirt bottle and give your kitty a calm zap of water to "retrain" what is acceptable and what is not. All this will take some time, you own to break and create new habits. Calm Down is a product you can add to your cat's sea to mellow kitty out too, and it works.
My cat doesn't hit me but she does meow in the night. I found that whether you play with your cat for 10 minutes a night he or she will sleep.
Thats what happens with my cat =]
I abhorrence it but them sooner or later she falls asleep on her bed
I got her a bed so she wont sleep next to me
I put the bed on my bed
So she could be close to me
but not one me.

Good luck
My 5 year old cat have been doing the same. She is super clingy
Answers: My cat Abby does that to me all the time. She knead my neck and purrs. I've learned to just wallow in the free neck rub even though she wakes me up in the middle of the dark. She also has the tendency to jump on my subsidise when I bend over.
