Anyone enjoy info almost sly hyperthyroidism?

Yes, my cat had it. It is very common, particularly in older cats. In her case, it lead to her being very thin. It also increased her heart rate.

It can be treated through radiation treatment or through twice each day medication. As my cat was elderly, we opted for medication. She did fine and lived to age 19. The ultimate raison d`¨ētre of death was kidney failure, not thyroid issues.
I agree with number 1 and also have a cat beside hyperthyroidism and am doing the 2x/day medicine (Methimazole). It just needs to be monitored fussily if you notice changes surrounded by your cat. Like if she/he starts throwing up a lot, a vet trip is necessary. Once they are on the right dosage, adjectives is well. Mine lost weight as well.

If you own problems giving her the pills, you can by "Greenies" brand "Pill Pockets". My cat loves them and looks forward to her medicinal "treat" twice a day!

If you need further information, feel free to e-mail! :o)

A real upright site, which I used to learn about it is

I had a cat diagnosed near hyperthyroidism. Since he was mid-aged I went with the radioactive treatment. I have to keep him away from the other cats for 2 weeks and could only be in the vicinity him myself for about 2 hrs a day which I split into half hr segment.

If you go this route, be aware that he will become somewhat dehydrated and can develop a urinary track infection. I ended up have to put my little boy to sleep a month after his treatment because of the incompetence of the vet. Had she read his record, I still would have had my nouns cat lover boy.
Mine is hyper thyroid. I couldn't afford the iodine treatment (it be $1,300) so I went with the 2 pills of tapazole a day. Then found in that was a compounding pharmicist who could do it in a cream for the same cost so in a minute ours is on a dab of methamazole twice a day, which is $35 a month for me. She's completely regulated with it and have been on it for 2 years now.
Oh, yeah.

It can be treated next to medication. Either pills or you can ask to have a "compound" or paste made. This paste can be rubbed inside the cats ears.

Don't deferment in getting this treated.
