Anyone hold any experience beside the drug CAPSTAR?

vet gave both cats CAPSTAR today. because i thought the flea problem was over for the winter and stopped FRONTLINE .brought the cats contained by because of excessive ear scratching. vet found fleas.

one cat is fine, except she is not eating. not too concerned as she be shaking at the vets and might still be traumatized. but the other oner one is like a child on too much sugar. she wont settle down, bounces from place to place. runs around. getting into things she never touched before. grooms resembling fleas are biting her. and she wont eat either.

any one else have these problems? can CAPSTAR construct her hyperactive, or irritate her skin?

All drugs have side effects. I would try apple cider vinegar. Fleas hate it and they will be gone contained by a flash. You can mix a teaspoon in with the food or water for approximately two weeks, you'll notice a difference almost immediately.

Answers:    I use capstar all the time in my rescue work. The problem isn't the capstar... it's the fleas. They are freaking out and making your cat all heebee-geebee. Crawling adjectives over and generally just bothering your cat to the point that you think your cat is have a "reaction". It's not. I've seen it hundreds of times. Don't worry, your cat will be fine as soon as all the live fleas die.

Capstar lone has a half life of 24 hours (meaning it will be out of your cats system that fast) so it's pretty much the safest vet prescribed flea product on the flea market.

Just remember that Capstar only kills live fleas... any eggs that hatch will jump rear legs on your cat and reinfest it and start the cycle all over. You should still do another dose of frontline this year to prevent that.
