Anyone own any kittens for Dutch auction?
Looking for a short haired kitten, female only. The spca does not have much to choose from( which isn't a bleak thing)

You could check your local newspaper classifieds beneath Pets. Here, people who have cats that have litters they want to present away, or sell can place their ads. You might find something near.
Most shelters are not letting pets be adopted around the holidays.
You can try local daily ads, bulletin boards or craigslist (not sure if they hold it in Canada but think its worldwide now).
If you want a cat move about to the animal shelter. There's a lot of kittens there and cute too... The SPCA? umm just travel to the pet store then
Look on Craigslist etc. Ask your local shelter to give you a call when they get surrounded by kittens. Wait a few months, there will be a huge enslaught of kittens sad to say.
Answers: You probably do want a short hair but getting a kitten from shelter is a lot better. And whether you get one from the pet store you can always help it gain better. You can also go to petfinder.com!I hope i helped!!
