Anyone know how much this would cost (cat problem)?
My male cat has cryptorchidism, which is when their testicles do not drop, and will not drop, they are in his tummy. Because of not being able to be neutered, he is extremely aggressive to our trial kitten, who is a female, and he even attacked her, we are going to have to get rid of him whether he doesn't stop being so mean. Does anyone know how much this would cost to do surgery on him to remove them?
He is still competent to be neutered, it's just a more complicated surgery. The vet has to get underway his abdomen to get to the testicles. Call your local vets to find out how much it costs, as it's really going to differ.
I would check next to the Humane society and see if they would be willing to take strictness of this under their low cost spay and neuter program. Its for people that are let go from their jobs right now or on welfare. I am currently on a temp lay off so they covered me, and they didn't check anyones income info, etc. Didn't even mention it. (wink wink)
Answers: Your best bet would be to ask your vet as it varies depending on where on earth they are. Also the anaesthetic varies depending on the size ( weight) of the cat.
I had to have this done on my dog (GSD) and it wasn't vastly expensive - in the region of twice what a normal neutering would cost I think.
