Anyone know the best method to endow with cat pills?
I have tried pill pockets and hiding in food. anyone have a different style that has worked? Thanks.
I tried hiding pills in my cats favorite wet food and they started refuse that food. If I put it their mouths by hand, I got bit badly or they would force themselves to throw up, and out come the pill.

It gets the pill far stern enough that although they're pretty ticked that you shoved a stick down their throat, they don't realize you left something behind.
Sounds brutish but I grab my cat by the scruff of his neck so his head is facing the ceiling and tolerate his back toes touch the floor but not enough to try to jump. I hold the pill on a spoon with a little canned food to preserve from losing the pill. I shove the spoon to the very back of his throat (he will gag and bite the spoon but not me) and then I embezzle the spoon out quickly and hold his mouth shut rubbing his throat until he swallows 2-3 times. He won't be able to spit the pill out. You know you didn't put it far back satisfactory if he can spit it out.

The most influential way for me is restraining the cat, gently opening the chin and throwing the pill toward the back of the throat. This, however, is a skill I picked up over the years and some people are just not comfortable doing this. :)
Another instrument to get your cat to take is pills is to find a pharmacy that specializes in compounding. You can bring back a prescription from your vet and take it to the pharmacy. Ones that specialize in compounding can often give chicken or liver flavoring to the medication, as well as make it chewable. Check your phone book for a pharmacy that will do this, or look online.

whether i were you, i would crush it up real fine and add it within wet cat food, restraining a cat isnt always easy, and none hurting.
Answers: yes take the pill and coat it with butter/ or tuna grease.
then take it and place it on the tip of your finger.
have someone hold the cat and pry it's mouth depart
then take your finger (with the pill) and poke it ALL THE WAY DOWN THE THROAT. its' fast and the cat have the pill down the troat before it knows what happend.
If you have to hold it... afterwards wrap it in a towel and pry the mouth open with the moved out hand ... poking down the pill with the right (or which ever hand is your dominant hand)

I wrap mine in towel burrito style beside only the head sticking out. Open the mouth and poke the pill way support in the mouth. Close the mouth and hold it shut stroking the neck till you feel the cat swallow. Mixing pills next to food rarely works once the cat gets wise to it.
Put it in yogurt! My cats always eat it that instrument.
