Cats Behavior after Spaying Surgery?
My two cats were spayed 3 weeks ago. According to the Vet who performed the surgery they both turned very resourcefully and the following week he was removing their stitches. After two days I noticed that one of my cats showed a strange behavior, meowing a lot for attention and wave her tail. I also noticed that her * were swollen, which is a fact that happen before she was spayed. I thought it might be due to a hormones level alteration or something. Anyway I call the vet and he asked me to bring her to the hospital. He checked her last Tuesday. He felt her * were big indeed but he couldn't find an explanation for this. He verified that they be not draining any liquids and their color seem to be normal. Therefore he recommended to loaf a couple of weeks more and see if these comes back to normal. Otherwise they will own to give my cat some hormones prescription and eventually but hoping that will not happen a test to see whether the mammary glands show any kind of bad cells that can become into cancer.
I am really worried more or less this. So I was wondering if there is anybody else beside such a similar problem with their cats. So I can hear suggestions or comments about it. Thank you.
i dunno
Well, the single thing I can think of is a cat I had spayed just this minute, one of her nipples was swollen (not the entire breast), and it dripped a bit of thick milk. That went absent and the vet told me not to worry. But I don't know what goes on if it is adjectives her breasts that are like this and how exactly they look. Maybe take a moment opinion form another vet, I think it is strange that this one doesn't know what is going on.
Answers: I don't think meowing additional or wagging her tail extra has anything to do near being spayed - I think you're just concerned, so you're stressing over commonplace stuff as you search for things to be wrong.
Try to relax. Swelling is to be expected after surgeries. Wait and see, I'm sure it will all work out.
The swelling of the mammary glands may be due to raise or abnormal levels after the surgery, wait as the vet say then have him re-examine her,are you sure she wasnet pregnant previously she was speyed? this may bear some relevance.
I don't know about the swelling but my feminine cat ( who is spayed ) does that all of the time-- the meowing (even moaning) and flicking her tail for attention. She's just really flirty and vocal.
