Cats insufficiency of shipment gain/cost of vet?
i got my cat from my best friends old boss because they didn't want him anymore, for whatever use. okay i've had him for about a year and he stays thin adjectives year. i want him to gain weight because he stays outside a lot and within the winter i don't want him to freeze. i do let him in every day, merely not when my dad is here because he doesn't like for him to come in unless he's just ingestion (as soon as he's done eating i'm suppose to put him back outside).
obviously i can't be at domestic all the time, so are there any foods i can feed him (for cats) that can relieve weight gain?
i looked up other answers and they suggested worms/internal parasites may be the cause of his nouns of weight gain and to take him to the vet to be sure.
how much does a check up cost for a cat? to check for worms and things of the resembling?
You mean to say you've never taken him to the vet?
So... he's not vaccinated...? That could be something to do with it.
Your pet should go to a vet at most minuscule once a year.
Can't afford Vet..?
Don't have Pet!
Edit - Well, you cat obviously isn't vaccinated, since youve have it for a year, and haven't taken it to the vets.
Vaccinations need boosting every year you know.
Just phone your vet and ask for their costs on a worm check and annual physical for the cat. Each area is different, and these costs are standardized so they can quote you right over the phone.
You'll need to bring in a poop example, put it into a zip lock baggie and take it in.
Here a checkup is $35 and the worming meds would be doesn`t matter what it costs for that particular parasite (different meds do different parasites).
Answers: Cats are naturally lean animals. They tend to gain weight when they are fixed and stuck inside. If he isn't fixed, I would see about that. Most cities hold a low cost spay/neuter progam if you can't afford it. Some will even do it free of charge. Call your local humane society and ask for any special programs. If he is neutered, then he's probably freshly lean cause he is very active. Most outdoor cats are highly active.
If he has to stay outside for long period of time, then I would get like a dog house or a crate. Line it near an old blanket or something to that effect. If he has a place to go out of the part, then he will be better off.
Finally there is some lofty calorie content paste out there you can get. It is expected for sick cats to help them through their illness, but it is highly palitable and full of calories. You can check a local pet store for it.
Hope that help!
I'm sorry that your father isn't supportive of you having a cat. You inevitability to start making phone calls to different vets & price compression letting them know this is first check-up. You need to bring surrounded by a stool sample to get a de-wormer, best not to treat this with over the counter de-wormers. If none of the vet have fees you can afford call the ASPCA to see how much they charge in your nouns. Also though I recommend your cat have this important vet visit...several vets allow you to bring in the stool sample in need the animal & you pay for the lab fee & de-wormer med.minus the office call in. Good luck in trying to get a sample since kitty go outdoors...I really would be saving $200. just to be on the safe side..Many small vet clinics can catch you outta there for less, even with the cost of vaccination...it's just in case kitty wishes other meds Good Luck
