Cats returning domestic after neighbours moving?

My neighbours moved 3 suburbs away about 3 months ago. They took their cat with them. Today my spanking new neighbour found their cat in the garden, severely dehydrated and very sick. How is it that a cat can find it's means of access back like that?
they know there way around really good. its similar to a built in navagtion system. this same thing happened to me when i moved. i moved a couple miles absent and i brought my cat. we let him out one night and he never came fund. so we went to the old house to see if he be there and sure enough in that he was sitting in the same spot he other sat in. i dont know how he did it but he got in attendance.
One time I moved a few neighborhoods away and my dog got out. In the process of trying to pick up her we happened into an area near the frail house that she was familiar with, and when she finally get tired of her little "catch me" game, she went straight to the front door of our out-of-date house.

Tell your old neighbors to keep their cat inside for a week or so until it adjusts to the fresh house.
Answers:    It's a "homing instinct". Please take the cat within and give it some TLC.and if you know the phone number of the "ex" neighbors, call and consent to them know that their cat is alive and "back home". They're probably out of their minds, thinking it's dead!

Sure hope you know how to get contained by touch with them...Good luck.
Instinct. That cat needs to get sub-cutaneous fluids from a vet, right away.
Possible gum issues w/cat not chewing?   If I've only put frontline on my cats, how long should I hold on to them apart?   My cats tooth is broken?   If i really really want a cat how do i convince my parents into getting one?
