Cats...How various hours is a 9 mo old-fashioned cat supposed to sleep?
We recently adopted a beautiful cat. She is spayed and is a short time playful...but not too much. Is that normal?
She might still be a bit fidgety with her new home. This could make happen her to sleep a lot. I suggest you play with her more recurrently to get her juices going.
Yes, it's commonplace. The amount of sleep a cat needs will change every day. The amount they achieve from tonight may be more or less from the night before; it depends on how live kitty is during the day. My cats are active inside and outside of the house. There own been times when I leave for work at 10:30 PM one of them will be on my bed; when I get domestic around 8:00 AM the next morning, he is still there. But once he wakes up, WATCH OUT! His sister does not sleep comparatively as much as he does.
Ironically, as kitty gets older she will develop more playfulness. Once you have see a difference, I suggest you get a laser pointer. By chasing that little red dot, it will keep her stirring and young at heart. My cats love it. You will benefit from it as well.

Cats have unique personality, including how playful they are. I have a cat who was always pretty mellow and stolid, even when she was a kitten. She never played all that much. I mean, she'll play, but she doesn't find very "in" to it. She's always been that style, and still is 16 years later.
I think that's more abnormal though, and most cats are plenty playful. They'll acquire less playful as they get older.
13 hrs my mom is a vet,and she say to every 20 to 30 minutes of playing the kitten will counter with an hr to 2hrs rest,if you want more enegry for kitty i know a very perfect dietry substance/cook 500g chicken mince,add lactose free cheese and some small shell pasta add bread crumbs,andwait till cool and feed to kitty
Cats like to sleep in the daytime...and are frisky at night, but then will sleep when you do...
yes that is usual. Buy your cat a toy or something for them to chase for exercise. My cats sleep all of the time.
If she's real playful contained by the time that she's not sleeping and eating and drinking well, I'd say she's average. Cats tend to spend anywhere from 18-20 hours a day sleeping and for kittens, it's sometimes even more. Seems unusual to us, but that's the life of a cat. :]
