Concerns beside my Cat--just get spayed?
for starters i have two kitties and yesterday, i had one my 2 year behind the times cat spayed. when i went to drop her off i had similar to tears in my eyes ( i know im ridiculous but i love my kitty) well i went to travel pick her up and oh man.. i seen another cat getting picked up and she was up moving like nought happen than i seen my kitty and she didnt even look alive.. the look of her made me cry.. seriously i was non stop worried give or take a few her.and my kitty is very friendly very loving loyal everything and the nurses was unfolding me ur cat was very unfriendly hissing biting intricate to handle and that is a SURPRISE to me.. but that is because she be scared and didn't trust those people RIGHT. After reading i guess other cats react different. but i dont know so i bring her domestic and went into a room put newspaper down.. and just consent to her lay there to sleep off the anthesia.. she still was just even moving.. so i gave her peace in quiet roughly 3 hours later i came back contained by and she was moved not from the same spot so i checked on her and she was soooooo drunk lol..it be like she didnt know reality. at all. she kept falling over a moment ago acting really drunk so i have a little hallway that i set up near blankt shredded paper inside litter box wet food and water and i agree to her sleep there through the night.. she was really worrying me because she be really drunk and didnt even know who i was.. well this morning i got straight up and check on her.. and she looked so much better and when i go to go to her she meowed at me once and kept putting her head on me and even licked me.. so i know my baby new who i was but she be still drowsy so i went into the spare room from the hallway and laid in bed near her for about two hours.. and than i had to get prepared for work.. well i put her back into the hallway. block the hall off and than continue to get geared up i went outside for a bit came spinal column in and when i did she wasn't in the hallway so i freaked out starting looking for her and certain enough she went all the route across the house and was on my bed.. ( oh that kitty :0) so i can tell thats were she is content buuuut she shouldn't be doing to much diversion getting on my bed is a lot cause its jumping so i took a huge kennel that my dog uses and.. put a blank pillow and than within the back the litter food n water and i sat her surrounded by there while i am at work so i dont have to worry around her.. so hopefully i did a good job.. but, my concern is why is it taking so long foooor her to go spinal column to normal and she is SUPER SUPER skinny and i do not like that at all. at adjectives. so i just maybe need reinsurance. and also she is due for her front queue should i put it on when i get home or should i wait?? in good health thanks in advance i simply really love my kitty and hope she is okay.. but i will tell you when she realized it was me i couldn't even explain how merry i felt inside.because yesterday she had no idea
I've had a cat or two have a more intense reaction near the anestethia they use. It can take a few days to be back to normal. Yes they do tend to look skinny right after surgery.
If she's not drinking and drinking as normal in another day or two, I'd contact the vet. Maybe boil up for a moment chicken breast meat and shred it and give it to her to stimulate her appetite.
Don't worry too much. I also had equal shock when I went to pickup my kitty who had teeth extracted. She looked horrible and I felt so desperate for her. Let your cat rest and be quiet so she can recuperate. Just put some food and water fundamental her her bed and let her rest. It sounds like the vets really drugged her up.
You should keep hold of an eye on her because sometimes they have complications with the surgery or pickup a virus at the vets. If adjectives is well after 2 or 3 days, she should be fine. Maybe you want to think about switching vet because she will probably remember the bad experience and become extremely stressed out the next time she has to jump there.
I would not put the flea medication on right now. It is just an alternative thing (mild toxin) that could add to the stress. If your cat doesn't have fleas, you should not use any medication as a preventive.
It can take a day or two for the anesthesia to leave their system. And she's an fully developed, and it does take the adults longer to recover than the younger ones. Feed her all of her favorite foods, and raise your spirits her to eat and drink. Between the shaving and everything, they do seem very skinny when they gain back home. I would wait a couple of days to put the frontline on her. She's get enough to handle right now, and while it's past the worst, I always feel better not subjecting them to more than necessary after surgery.
Good move beside the dog kennel! This way you know she's confined, and won't be jumping up on things while you're not home.
I'm certain she'll be back to her old self in a couple days, but I do read why you're concerned about her.
I have had 4 kittens and their mother spayed and they adjectives reacted very much like yours did. It's upsetting when they react differently but she's going to be just fine. If you've ever had surgery, you know that anesthesia kick your butt and it takes a couple of days to be back to normal completely. And your kid just had a hysterectomy which is a big deal. She's going to be a moment ago fine.
And don't feel like a baby because I sobbed when I took respectively one of mine to be fixed. ;-) *hug*
Answers: Getting spayed is bloody and going to the vet is quit eventful too. Spaying is a major surgery, they cut through muscle which makes it really sore and tender especially moving around.
You should lurk on giving her her frontline. Since she no going out any time soon she won't get fleas.
