Do I hold to mix my cats food?
My dad bought my cats food, however he bought the wrong one. I normally get Science Diet adult formula 1+. My dad bought Science Diet Mature 7+. It is can food. Do I have to mix the old food with the spanking new food or can I just give her the new stuff.
She will be 7 within January.
You should gradually switch a cats diet. Changing foods abruptly can mete out an upset stomach.
It is not recommended that you mix dry and wet food together and leave it out for a time of year of time. The dry food is coated with fats and quickly grows heartless bacteria once it has become wet.
It's always a good model to change foods gradually to prevent stomach upset - although in this overnight case since it's the same brand, the formulas may not be much different. Senior formulas usually have smaller quantity fat and protein.
Science diet has corn, soy and by-products. There are better options available that cost nearly the same since you're not paying for the huge advertising expense. Look for one that has no corn, wheat, soy or by-products.

Mixing it will be fine. It wont hurt your cat.
I would mix the unsullied and old but have more of the old within the bowl than the new. If you are not planning to switch her food make sure here is more of the old than the new. If you are planning to switch then unhurriedly mix more and more of the new food into her food. Good luck. Just dont make the tuning too quickly
I'd mix it up,your cat will think you are a Food Rapper!
It's not a bad idea to mix dry food with drizzly food. They like it better and it's still good for their teeth. A little mixing isn't bad. You mix your food don't you?
My mom does it with her cat. I would mix the dry and switch out the showery food flavors after awhile.
Definitely mix it, especially since she's older and used to a specific brand. Mix it surrounded by gradually over a period of two weeks.
Just returned it. Or it is no problem to mix with your old cat food since your cat will be 7 contained by two months. But you need to add small amount in the first hours of daylight, may be 20% new food, and 80% old food, then the subsequent day add a bit more 30% new food, and 70% frail food. etc.
I would mix it up
Always mix the food whether your going to change foods because it allows the body to adjust, so I would mix it little by little and than finally turn her over to 7+food totally.
its not a problem if you give it 7+ food although it is 6
Answers: Feed the old food then add within the new stuff. Soon you'll start feed the new stuff singular. When the cat turns 7 it a senior.
"When switching a cat from one food to another, a gradual approach is often helpful. Over the course of a week, feed a mixture of feeble food and new. As the week progresses, decrease the proportion of old food and increase that of the topical. If the animal seems to be having trouble adjusting to the latest food, slow the rate of transition."

"To start, for the first few days, feed 75 percent old food mixed with 25 percent untried food; then 50 percent each of old and hot food for a few days; then 25 percent old food and 75 percent new food; and finally adjectives new food."- http://www.optimumchoices.com/Downloads/...
