Does anyone elses cat/pet own a really distinctive sense of self?
i recently aquired a cat with the house i moved into (he had be left behind and had be living in the field for 3 years) i have have cats before and they were reasonably similar but this one is unlike any other cat! he meows constantly, he have a crush on a furry bathroom rug, he loves my fleece dressing gown, he follows me around, and meows when other people come near me, he paws at my hand and face when hes lying on me and he brings me dead animals every other day, and he like to attack the bottom step of the stairs. anyone elses pet do unusual things?!
Well done, your cat obviously loves you SO much ! He sounds a material character and what an honour that he brings you 'presents' lol .
We've had cats for 34 years now and adjectives have had different purr-sonalities, the 2 we have immediately are a couple of tearaways, we love them to bits !
The cat I had until he died in Jamuary brought me leaves every day and never animals (maybe he know I'm a veggie lol). He used to sleep stretched out fully on his back and when he dreamt he used to move his paws as though he was running:-)
The cat I've get now is obsessed with my furry slippers. She sleeps on them whenever she can, even when I'm wearing them. She like to sit outside on the grass when it rains. She also headbuts people's chins when they pick her up lol. So cute!
He is showing how much he appreciates everything that you have done for him and his devotion to you...particularly by bringing you dead things. All furry animals have a personality adjectives their own. Yours sounds great!
Just approaching all species, all cats DO have distinctive personality...you are absolutely correct.
Boy he loves you a lot---if he brings you dead animals (mice, birds, etc.?)
My kitty who a short time ago left me yesterday, used to love to lick the water that was vanished on the bottom of the bathtub after I'd shower. and he 'fetched' for little toys I gave him...and when he'd bring it back to me, he'd drop it at my foot for the next 'go around' & after I'd shower, when he'd drop it, he'd go DIVING beneath the bathmat my feet were on.
I miss him!
How wonderful to have such a great cat around you! But lots of animals have interesting personality. I used to have a cat who, like most cats, didn't like the precipitation, so he used to check both the front and back of the house when it was raining, just to label sure. Another cat I had objected to me smoking, and would lunge onto me and complain bitterly by meowing loudly whenever I lit up, and continue until I got rid of the cigarette.
Bringing dead animals domestic is quite a common thing for cats to do; one premise is that the cat is bringing a gift, or a throwback to gathering food for kittens. It's not always a pleasant need, of course. Another cat I used to have brought home a undamaged family of shrews from a nest at the bottom of the garden. He wasn't satisfied until the entire family be eliminated.
I'm convinced that my present dog thinks he is chasing aliens, which he seems to mull over disguise themselves as aluminium cans. He will never pass an empty can contained by the street; he'll bring it home and 'interrogate' it for ages. He has a little stash of them, which he keep in a hiding place in my subsequent door neighbour's garden. He'll leave one there for perhaps a week or so and later bring it out again for further interrogation.
Hie mother, who is now quite old, will 'dance on strike' for a cuddle when we go for a walk. She will simply stop and look at me, and refuses to progress any further until I stop and give what she regards as enough strokes. (I'm probably encouraging her by giving within, but I can't resist her appealing look, so what the heck...).
Interesting habits are, I feel, one of the things that make have a pet so rewarding. Best wishes to you and your cat.
Ive had mo (my cat) 4 about 6 plus years , he was given 2 me as a kitten . race think Im crazy when I tell them that he talks . when I vote he talks im not kidding, he says (want out) when he desires to go out side, he also meows ma ma when he wants me . this is not the first cat Ive owned that has talk. JoJo when he was alive was the first and thats who taught Mo. I update people they all have something to read out if you just listen -ski-
Cat A:
My cat runs to the phone every time it rings and tries to answer it and whether nobody answers he meows like crazy, he likes to play with toy pianos. When someone rings the doorbell he is the first one in attendance. He turns on the tv. I think my cat was born weird or smart.
Cat B: He does not approaching touching his poop to bury it He loves bike rides every time i get on my bike he wants to come lol
Cat C: Born lazy merely like Garfield he takes it easy lol
Mine walks over to my precious oriental rug, turns to look at me, smiles broadly and stretches out a claw . . .
He KNOWS this is guaranteed to get me to my feet.
Some cats noticeably have more zip than others. It's all the luck of the draw and it sounds as though you've get a good one there.
I've had my cat for more or less 11 years now and she is quite clingy! When I'm sleeping she'll come and lay as close as she possibly can to me. She sleeps with her butt surrounded by the air (like a dog wanting to play) and she pretty much does somersaults all night, rolling on her spinal column and side to side. She only like to be around me and if near is a fast movement she pounces right out of sight! Even if I move too hurried she spazzes out! Very weird...She's very sweet and loves attention, just rather strange sometimes.
no my kitten dont or my cat i think there is something wrong there you involve to go and get him sorted out before he does anything else wrong so stir and have him sorted out ok.
Answers: Cats always have a different sense of self. My old cat died in 2005 (she was my best friend) and I finally get another cat in 2007 and two more this year. They are all very distinctive and different to respectively other.
For instance, my oldest cat likes to go around the house and won't let you fuss him for long, he still loves you and comes up for a fuss, but he doesn't approaching too much attention. He also doesn't like it when loads of people come into the house, as he gets upset and usually runs off. I walked into my room once and my younger sister have placed my massive tiger teddy (they are my favourite animal) onto my bed and he freaked and scratched me, he obviously thought it be another cat and once, he mistook my sister for a cat and got scared again, since she was wearing black cat ears. He also like getting stones out of the fireplace and flicking them around and climbing up the Christmas tree, he is very active.
My second cat is fairly chilled, he sleeps a lot and he has a funny meow sometimes. He likes to sleep surrounded by funny places and when chasing his toys, he jumps crazily in the air, it is highly funny to watch! He is very different to my first cat and much more relaxed in his quality and he is very cuddly, since he is so fluffy. He also likes the dog and rubs himself up against her and lies with her contained by her basket, my old cat used to do this, so it is very nice to scrutinize.
Last, but not least, is my new kitty and she is definitely somewhat fire cracker. She likes to lie down in her cat litter and play contained by it (silly little girl!) and as soon as I flick the water on, she jumps up and onto the sink and dives right in, that's right, she loves dampen! Both of my other cats dislike water. She likes to drink the water coming out of the thump, even though she has water near her food bowl and like to climb the top of the shoe rack, as she sleeps there. She is also very active and is lying on the clothes rack, over some cases as I type.
Cats are amazing! :D
I have four cats and every single one of them is different.
One of them, my moms cat, clings to her like a baby even though he's nearly 7, even suckles on her jersey, when my mom is out he clings to me and my dad but when she is around he'll attack us for no good reason. Total brat in other words.
Our youngest black and white is frightened of strangers but with people he knows he is the biggest softie ever, headbutts you to voice hello and then curls up on ur chest and sleeps. The oldest black and white is a bit evil, only becomes sociable contained by winter. Is bullied by the two youngest and bullies the other one.
My cat is the weirdest though, he likes attacking things like bags(not plastic) and most recently our elderly dogs urn(which was there for 2 months before he notice it) He also loves a cuddle when he comes in from the rain, lets you dry him, them promptly go out and gets soaked again. He also stands in puddles and bats the hose down around. Happy to have a cuddle when I'm in bed to but if i progress near his face he freaks out and goes moody on me,
I judge all cats have different personalities, but consequently again that's what makes them so much fun, it would be boring if they were adjectives the same.
The more unusual the better i say!
