Does anyone know what stomititus is within cats, I enjoy be to the vet and havent received abet for the throbbing ?

Did they just diagnose your cat or did they propose treatment? From what I gather your cat won't get pain nouns until it's treated, likely by surgery.

Briefly, stomatitis is basically inflammation of the mouth. It can be fatal. Treatments alter but surgery (tooth removal) seems to be the most reliable.

You might consider trying another vet.

But I agree totally with the other answer..find another vet whether you didn't like this one, but they're the person to be asking these questions.
Yes, it's where the mouth has ulcer and raw spots, and the teeth are disintegrating at the base. VERY painful for the cat. It's an autoimmune response where on earth the cat's body is not recognising the teeth as part of the cat and is attacking them to get rid of them.

The cat is in distress with this. The only known method of stopping it 100% is to pull the cat's teeth. They find immediate relief and can devour canned and dry food (mine has no problem with any dry food), though you may enjoy to cut up any human food treats for them.

HOWEVER stomatitis and feline bartonella are very much similar and many cats next to bad mouth problems actually have bartonella. The GOOD piece about this is that 80% of bartonella cases can be cleared up with a 21 day course of antibiotics. You can own your vet do a blood test for it and if the cat does have bartonella, draw from the antibiotics.

Cats get bartonella via fleas, the virus stays in their system till their immune system gets too low, afterwards it manifests in the cat's mouth.

If your vet did not suggest pulling the cat's teeth or doing a blood assessment for bartonella, change vets.
Answers:    Well you're online, I'm sure you can find lots of info here.

your vet recommended something I'm sure. He/She didn't just read aloud, 'your cat has stomatitis' and then left it at that. There is a plan for this condition. Like getting her teeth cleaned, which beside help with the bacteria overload her mouth without a doubt has. And often there are medication that go ALONG with it. You need to ask your vet, why are you here getting answers instead of near the vet? If you don't feel your Q's were answered or are still stumped, call hindmost. Don't leave your cat to suffer because you misunderstood

So many people give up the vets office completely misquoting the vet, and then within turn don't get the care the pet needs. Listen with care to what he/she recommends, and do it
