Does anyone work at a fur fruit farm and whether you what is it really resembling for the animals?

Answers:    I have volunteered at one that raises primarily silver and mutation foxes. They are treated as well as pets. They hold roomy accommodations and eat diet balanced for their wishes. They receive routine vaccinations and wormings and have pedigrees longer than most dogs. They have be selectively bred for docile temperaments to avoid the problem of stressing them.

When the time comes to harvest them for their fur and meat they are given an injection of anesthetic just close to we do for our pet dogs and cats. The pelts are used for clothes and the meat goes into dog food, fertilizer, pig feed, etc. The specific person I've voluneered for feeds the wintering population of golden eagles on the fox carcasses. They do not nurture them to the other foxes. Silver (red) foxes are cannibalistic and will occasionally kill and eat each other. But they are not feed the meat of other foxes because it was found years ago that that resulted in a number of autoimmune disorders.

Both surrounded by Europe and the USA fur farming is regulated as to how big the accommodations have to be, what technique are used for handling and euthanizing, etc. Long ago this was not the case, but it has be for a number of years now.
