Does he hold a kitten flu?

I recently brought my new kitten home from the pound. He have a cold ( lots of sneezing ), which they said would be normal. However, today, he's sneezing AND wheezing (he's breathing outta his mouth), his eyes are watering like crazy, as whether he's crying, and when i pick him up he feels so warm that it feels approaching he's been in the sun. He's also been sleeping adjectives night and day. Is it possible that his kitty cold turned into a kitten flu? and if so is this dodgy like it is to babies/should i take him to the vet??

Answers:    Sounds like a URI. They are deeply common in shelter settings and do require a vet visit for some antibiotics and eye drops.
