Does my cat own a disease?

I removed a tic from my cat yesterday, I have no idea how long it was on him for but it be pretty fat. Does it carry lyme disease? Does my poor kitty have it presently??:(
Unfortunately the singular way your likely to find out is to take the tic and your cat to the vet and procure them both tested. Lyme disease is very difficult to detect just by observation. Hope this help :)

Answers:    The big "dog ticks" that you removed aren't the carriers of lyme disease, those are the smaller deer ticks. The safest thing to do, however, is to call the vet for direction, and also to get a safe flea and tick control for your cat.
I must agree with the other answer, however, where you live CAN play into the situation. If you are not near the woods where on earth larger animals like deer wander, you may be OK. But a vet visit is markedly indicated.
