Does my cat own allergies?
My 4 year old cat seems to have signs of allergies. Sometimes her eyes river almost like she is about to burst into tears(but never does of course). After clipping her nail I noticed all her paw pads nearest the claw are cracked and blistering. Very similar to a very dry cracked human heal. They are not bleeding, but after reading some articles I am afraid she may have something serious. She is indoors adjectives the time, no hard floors or harsh chemicals. I prefer natural remedies would approaching to not involve a vet unless it has to come to that (they always seem to push lots of experiment and meds that don't seem to be needed). Has anyone else had this problem or can suggest anything I can do for her? Thanks!
Answers: My cat have allergies and I run an air purifier for him. Try rubbing a little vitamin e on his paws. If that doesn't work, he requests to see the vet. Sometimes we need a little help. That's why they're nearby.
They push the tests because a complete blood panel shows them how the entire inside of the cat is functioning.
Allergy reactions normally involve pulling fur or trouble breathing. If she's got tearing up eyes, it's possible she is reacting to dust, their face are much closer to the ground than ours are and rugs hold a lot of dust.
The peeling pads, sometimes that indicates dry skin (and this mortal winter, it's going to show now more than in summer). I've had angelic luck rubbing a little vasoline on the pads, it helps them restore to health faster. Adding a bit of oil (flax oil, primrose oil, canola grease or salmon oil are best) to the dry food helps. No more than 1/4 tsp. a day though.
