Does my cat own fleas?
Well ever since a few months ago, I starting finding little black specks (looks like pieces of dirt) on my cat's bedding. You can't visually see them on her bedding-- I only noticed them when I be cleaning the bedding with a lint roller. I found cat hair plus many black specks. I read online that whether they turn red when squished with a wet napkin, they are flea dirt. I tried it, and it turned brownish-red, so I become positive that she has fleas.
However, now I'm kind of doubting it because, when I look through her fur (particularly within the white-colored fur under her chin, I can't find anything! I don't see any flea dirt or fleas at all. And I don't think I've gotten bit by one. But I do distinguish that my cat has been itching more, specifically on her face and lower than her chin.
So do you think she has fleas, or maybe of late some of them and I can't see them?
There is a good chance she has fleas, so you may want to find some instrument to get rid of them before they get adjectives over your house! Trust me, when they start biting you, it will drive you crazy! It may not be fleas though, it could be some sort of skin problem such as extremely dry skin or something. If you could, I'd take her to the vet and let them check her. :)
Your kitty probably does hold fleas. Sometimes they can be hard to see especially if the cat have longer fur or dark colored fur in some areas. I would bring her in to the vet and they can do a more thorough nouns and fix the flea problem. If the cat has been itching more then mundane then its a pretty sure sign. That and the black spots that change to healthy-looking when you squish them, equals fleas.
Answers: It could be a skin disease or infection you may have to take your cat to the vet. But before doing that check lower than its arms and behind its ears because those are the warmest parts of their body which is where they normally group. If you find anything try to bring back a good look at it then google pictures of fleas and then you'll know what to look for.
A good place to look for fleas is her collar and ears. It sounds to me like she does have fleas. I Recommend getting something like advantix no the flea collars. My vet told me that th ey be crap and didn't work.
