Does my cat requirement training beforehand I move?

In a few months I will be moving from my dad's house to my mom's apartment. Well my dad says if I will be moving I need to filch my cat because my cat occasionally pees on a chair in the living room. But my mom says whether my cat pees on anything in her apartment once then the cat is going back to my dads. Here is rather info that may be important. At my dads house there are three other cats, one which also pees on things but...you really cant blame the poor thing since it be hit by a car as a kitten, it's kinda brain damaged. At my mom's apartment is one dog, a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who is very capably trained and never goes to the bathroom inside. All these animals are fixed. Now my cat, is a 7 year old male tuxedo short spike, also fixed. Now that all that is said, my question is, will my cat obligation training so it doesn't pee on anything at my moms? And if so, is he too old to be trained or is he still trainable at 7 years?
No its fine just let it explore the house for a while until they get used to it
They are marking their realm, it is what male cats do. More than likely he will mark at your moms to. It is approaching he is saying this is mine. May be you will have to keep him contained by your room, and put a diaper on him. You will have to watch him close and when you see him try to mark spray him next to a bottle and make it a stream. Cats and dogs hate to be sprayed.Spraying by male cats is rugged habit to break. Good luck you and your cat are going to need all the luck you can return with.
Answers:    I think that he should be fine. If his peeing is exclusive to the stool I would say that it is more of a behavioral issue. Sometimes when cats have urinary tract infections they urinate outside of the box. One idea is that cats with infections pee in the box and it hurts so they then associate the box next to pain, and continue to not use it. I would tell your dad to unwanted items the chair because even if he can't smell the urine it is like a homing flare for the other cats and it will continue to get urinated on.
Have you have your kitty checked by the vet for why he pees on the chair occassionally? Sometimes its a sign of urinary tract infection. That would be #1 on my list of things to do. Secondly, I doubt there would be a problem at your moms as long as you rule out any strength problems and have an " introduction " period with her dog. Do not a short time ago bring the cat into the apartment without it. Right now, that is the dogs domain and if you just toss the cat into it ... you'll have problems beside both the cat and the dog. I suggest you contain your kitty to your bedroom at your moms first for a few days. Shut the door so the doggy cant get in. That will become her " locked haven ". She'll always know it is as well ... even when she is allowed to roam the entire apt. Over the first few days gradually introduce her to the dog by carrying her out to the doggys sector of the apartment and allowing them to sniff each other ... while shes in your arms and you are also petting the doggy. Do this a few times ... then unhurriedly allow her to roam the house, while you are also home. Eventually they will get use to each other. It of late takes time and patience on your part. Good luck!
