Does my cat hold rabies?
Ok…I think my cat may have rabies. His pupils are big and change greatly from medium to large. He is also not responding to me when I call his heading. He is constantly laying down and barely lifts his leader. Normally when I call his name, he usually responds next to a meow and comes to me. Now he ignores me. His second lids are slightly over his eyes too… I also don’t reflect that I can afford to take him to the vet or my mom wont…He also feels kind of damp….but I know that cats cant sweat…he feel sweaty though.. he usually meows at me if I try and move him when hes sleeping…and I haven’t seen him put away in a while… so.. Does he??
he really needs to see a vet and has he had rabies shots lately my cat other acts like that but he eats plentifully but this is different HE HAS TO SEE A VET :-0 the eye lids over his eyes means he is sick you need to achieve some kind of kitty medicine the dampness channel he has a fever and is very hot he might be worn out from his cell that fight of germs is probaly is wearing out hope he gets better:-)
It sounds as though your cat is EXTREMELY ILL. If no one takes him to the vet SOON, he could possibly DIE.
It doesn't sound close to rabies, but it does sound like he could have be poisoned!
Anytime there's this drastic a change in the behavior of an animal, it usually signifies syndrome.
If you can't get him to a vet, call someone who will.do you want this cat to die? Don't you think he deserves better than the track he's being treated. Ask mom to PLEASE get him some help SOON...similar to tomorrow MORNING.
Hope it turns out not to be a serious as it sounds...Good luck.
I am sooo sorry if what i suspect is correct because whether i am right then your cat is probably beyond help and will die soon. If your cat goes contained by and out, or if your household has recently have problems with mice you have tried to get rid of, later he may have caught and eaten a mouse that was already to sick from human being poisoned to run away from your cat. If the kitty ate a mouse poisoned from something like D-Con then the cat have also been poisoned. Ask your parents to take him to the vet,but if that is to say not possible then call the humane society to come bring him, or take him in yourselves to be humanely put to sleep so that he does not continue to suffer. No issue what is done with the cat, try to spend some time petting and loving on him and tell him good bye beforehand he goes. That way if he dies, he will know he is loved and not alone, and you will also be better prepared to fiddle with it should that happen. If he gets well after en no harm done, but you need to prepare for the worst, just surrounded by case. Sooooo SORRY you are having this problem! Good Luck!!
He needs a vet since he is awfully sick. But this does not sound like rabies. Rabies in pet animals is extremely in danger of extinction. But that doesn't mean he isn't very sick.
Look into Care Credit - it's a way to receive a loan to pay for vet bills.
Answers: Your cat IS sick. There are no two ways about this, it NEEDS veterinary attention as soon as possible.
From the Wikipedia: "In the beginning stages of rabies, the symptoms are malaise, headache, and restlessness, while in later stages it includes acute pain, stern movements, uncontrolled excitements, depressions, and the inability to swallow water (hence the name hydrophobia). In the final stages, the patient begin to have periods of mania and sloth, and coma. Death generally occurs due to respiratory insufficiency"
The early stage symptoms are scarcely unique - many other ailments can cause those same symptoms. An exam by a qualified veterinarian is the best path to find out. If you have a specific reason to believe that your cat has be exposed to rabies, it is your public duty to report this to your local animal control.
Doesn't sound similar to rabies, but your cat is suffering! Plese tell your parents to take him to a vet! Cats don't show that they are sick until they are very sick. He is certainly suffering. If you take him to a Humane society or rescue, they may be willing to treat your cat for low or no cost. If you cannot find someone to help you, I would embezzle him to a vet and then after he is treated, ask if you can be billed later. They are not going to be smiling about it, but most of them will do it. If you ask ahead of time, they are not going to tell you that this is ok. I normally wouldn't propose doing this, but it sound like this is life and extermination. Please help him...it makes me so sad :(
