Does raining food affect bowel movements contained by cats?
I recently changed my cats to an all wet food diet due to one of my cats have constipation problems. I figured I'd switch them all to wet food, per my vet. I've notice since I've put them on it .. * once in the morning, once in the evening * that all 4 cats own not been using the bathrooms as much. They are peeing but all of them have gone from have a bowel movement maybe 4 times a day to about once a year. Is this because of the wet food? And is it ok?
try iams showery or science diet wet if that don't work i don't know what to tell you.
Yes it does unluckily. I would suggest giving the dogs separate OR mix hard dog food with the moist. If they do ok next to that, add water to dry food and then slowly ween them stale of that and just have regular hard dog food. I propose "canin" dog brand food. They sell brands for most breeds, sizes, and going on weight. Its full of vitamins as well. Please check the inside of your cats mouth for whiteness as thats a sign of dehydration. Hope I help. Thanks :]
Good Luck Sweet Heart with your cats.
its better to let her off easy than varying it all together
usually drizzling food sends them to the toilet i would give it a few days if no motion put both down dry and wet cat food
Are you certain they are not going somewhere else?
Thier bodies might take a while to get use to it.
I use the yogurt for digestive problems.
Yeah, it get all soft and nasty, hard to verbs up.
Answers: That is normal and exactly what you want. They are have less bm's because they are digesting their food correctly. Lot's of peeing is good too, because they are getting their water beside their food.
I hope you are feeding a grain free diet like Wellness. Check here for more information on feed your cats: http://catinfo.org
Good for you for switching your cats to a wet diet! Dry food is death to cats.
EDIT: So many wrong answers! Don't start feed dry again. What you are doing is perfect!
Vet Tech: Why are you suggesting feeding dry dog food to cats?? Did you not read the question?
EDIT again: 9 lives is not the best, but better than dry close to your vet said. Did you try Fancy Feast? They make grain free varieties too.
