The Humane Society depends on folks like you and me to adopt their poor, homeless pets. They get the animal set to be your companion by giving it all its shots, a bath, ear mite medicine, spay/neuter, and feed them for as long as it takes for a good Samaritan like you to come along.

It is probably in the order of $50-$75 but it would cost you double that much to do it on your own with a private vet. Give them a chance, friend! You will get the best operate and a guaranteed healthy pet.
Answers:    Most shelters do charge an adoption fee. One of my kittens cost me about $145 (spayed, microchipped, vet checked, etc), and the other cost me about $85 (neutered/vet checked). Each shelter is different, you should check to see whether the shelters around you have websites and see how much they charge. Good luck! :)
Here is a list of adoptable kittens in the Tampa area. Depending on the shelter, you will compensate about $50-100 for adoption. Most shelters include shots, sterilization, micro-chip, deworming, and a health guarantee in the adoption allowance. It is lots cheaper to adopt and get all the vetting than it is to get a free kitten and own it done yourself paying full price at the vet. A kitten you adopt for $100 will cost about half what a free kitten will cost once you get the vetting done. Check out these cuties

I love Sasha (3rd kitten from the top)! What a charming kitty!
yes i think they do
Each one is different, you need to verbs out your phone book and just phone them and ask.
My local shelter charges $100.

a "free" kitten will cost you way more than that. The shelters provide a great service - providing temporary shelter for local companion animals- medical support, testing, vaccine, and altering. The cost of the care given to a new kitten is commonly double the adoption fees.

If you can't afford the adoption fee, how are you going to afford the vet visits, the neutering, vaccines, etc - not to mention what might develop if the kitten has an accident and you enjoy an emergency situation.
