Does the inflammation of a Cat's stomach indicate "worms" or any other disease / problem?
My friend has a cat who stays at her office. She feeds him everyday and offer him water daily also. Just recently she go on a vacation over the weekend and no one was competent to feed the cat, so she filled his bowl to capacity. Over the subsequent COUPLE weeks the cat's belly has been growing unbelievably! At first we thought it be just because he was eating too much, but that might not be the luggage. He is still kind of skinny, but his stomache is ENORMOUS!! it looks so abnormal. He seems to be ok, taking a few walk around the office every now and then, but it is still severely odd. His stomache looks like he swallowed a Melon!! but his body frame is still small. Kind of like when a snake eat a rat, or small animal, with the buldging of the stomache, but still a small frame nd body.
sounds like a symptom of leukemia.if possible,it should see a vet.
The cat needs to go to the vet right now. Inflammation in the belly could be feline infections peritonitis virus, and that can slay cats. Call your friend and tell her to tell the boss or whomever is responsible for the cats health and welfare to drop work and rob the cat to the vet! It may not be FIP, but the swelling in this cat's belly is an 'alarm' and must be tended to hastily.
Answers: Yes it probably is worms, I have 5 cats that have adjectives been rescued form the outdoors and when we got them, their stomachs ( around their ribs) were adjectives bulged out like they swallowed a melon.
