Does your cat do this?

When ever my cat is on my bed, She loves to push down on it with both her paws one at a time, Why do cats do that?

This is my panther by the way!

Ya, mine does that and many other things! It acts alot approaching a dog!
Most people will tell you it's collectively a sign of contentment. A throwback from when they were kittens. The kneading motion that they are making is what they do to stimulate the mothers milk to get it flowing.

I have masses who do that including one of our latest rescues who was shot with BB's and have to have an eye removed. She fusses about taking her medicine but the minute we're thru next to it, she's cuddled back with me kneading her paws. If I'm not guarded, my legs look like pin cushions!
Answers:    One of my cats do this too. It is call kneading and it comes from when the kitten was little and used to express milk from it's Mother's breasts to stimulate milk flow. When cats are particularly close to their owners they display this behaviour as adults but knead on bedding etc instead, sometimes they also do this to formulate the spot that they are about to lay on more comfortable.
It is a thing they do when they are drinking milk from their mothers.
All of my cats have done it atleast once.
We even had one that would pick up the blanket contained by his mouth as he was doing it.
My cat does that all the time, she also nuzzles her nose into the little dent she is creating. I regard it has somethign to do with the feeling of cats self close to their mother. I have no idea, good interview.
