How Do I Introduce My Cat To My Dog?

the cat would be a young kitten and the dog is a smallish *-soo poodle only 2 years old.
just put them together. stand beside. watch what they do. if they clash then you don't need to put them together again. If don't then no problem tolerate them play between themselves. Simple!
Poodles are incredibly protective over what is "theirs"

My poodle kicks anythings *** that comes anywhere near our mailbox.

He once ran a Rottweiler bad!
Answers:    Because the cat is a babyish kitten, it would be easy for him to adjust. The poodle may not be as accepting.

What you do is you first get them used to each other. Use two towels, one beside the scent of the kitten, the other of the dog, and allow the animals to smell each through the towels. Pet them with the towels and speak softly, maybe supply a treat in or two.

A few days later, or the next time, whatever you feel your poodle is up for and able to do, introduce them greatly slowly. I suggest putting the dog into a room and let the kitten roam around for a while and let him bring back used to his new surroundings. When he settles down, put him in your knees and cuddle him and have someone release the dog.

Or, maybe a better way since your dog is so small, bring him out and hold him and enjoy the cat come to him. If the poodle or the kitten growls, be very cautious. Maybe put one of them up and allow them to adjust. I suggest the dog so the kitten can bring used to your home.

If the dog and kitten don't get along right away, it's okay. Just agree to them hang out. The kitten will hide and sooner or later come around.
