How do I inculcate my cats to use the Litter box to some extent than the floor?
Has he have a litterbox before? how old is he? it could be a UTI of he already has a litterbox and hes hoary enough. Cats will blame the litterbox for there pain so they will pee on other things to see whether it feels better. If he has never had a litterbox after when you see him doing his thing take him straight to the litterbox and he will eventually get the tip that the litterbox is for going potty not the floor.
Cats generally don't hold to be trained to use the litter box, they naturally want to bury. Try putting the litter box in their usual spot where they hold been going on the floor. Also if they are small/babies, make certain the box isn't to tall/big. I have had lil ones that the box was too complicated to get to or get into and they didn't want to use it.
Hope this helps!
when he wees on the floor put toilet paper on the wee when the paper has sack it up put it in the cat l;litter and leave it there when the cat go there praise
WE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH OUR NEW KITTEN OUR VET TOLD US TO PUT THE CAT IN THE LITTER BOX EVERY TIME HE OR SHE EATS OR DRINKS AND IF IT GOES ON THE FLOOR POOP THEN SCOOP IT UP AND PUT IT IN THE LITTER BOX THEN PUT THE CAT INSIDE AND LET HIM OR HER SEE AND SMELL THE POO SO HE OR SHE WILL NO THAT IS WHERE HE OR SHE SHOULD GO ..THAT WORKED FOR US BUT IT TAKES AWHILE BEFORE THEY CATCH ON LOL GOOD LUCK
Answers: Cats don't need to be "taught" to use a litter box, this is something they do as a matter of preference. For a different kitten, putting him in the litter box several times throughout the day, especially after meal or playtime, should be enough for him to figure it out. For an older cat who have stopped using the box, there is more than likely a reason for it. He may own developed an aversion to the box, either due to illness (ie; a urinary tract infection will cause the cat to associate agony with the litter, so he may go outside the box), stress, or something in the region of the area/smell/type of litter/etc etc has become unpleasant for the cat.
If you have mulitple cats, be sure to own at least one box per cat, plus an extra communal box is also a good belief. Make sure to clean each box each day. Put the boxes in an area that is out of the style, as loud noises or major distractions can frighten him, and cause a scare reaction to the box. If the box has a cover, try removing it, as he may not like fancy confined. You can also try changing the litter material itself... scented vs. unscented, clumping vs. clay vs. shredded weekly.
You should first have him checked by a vet to rule out any physical causes. If that is not the baggage, keep experimenting with the box/material/location until you find the combination that works.
Your cat should naturally do this Just put him/her contained by the litter box and it will figure it out,
