How long does it rob for anesthesia to wear bad on a cat?
my cat was spayed today and it was at 9:00 and we have picked her up at 3:00 and she now is still dizzy from the anesthesia and she cant do anything, walk, stand, eat, or drink we literally have to pour a spoon of water down her throat (vet said to) but how much longer will it take for the effect of the anesthesia to go down?
thnx so much, i really love my cat a great deal so anything will help! =]
Usually within 24 hrs. Sometimes its sooner. If she's not better in the morning, then bid the vet. Some cats can have bad reactions to the anesthesia.
All anesthesia should be worn past its sell-by date by 36 hours. A lot of them take a while to get out from under most of the affects (do not permit her near stairs or up on any furniture as she may fall off it). Keep her confined to a still room and with dim lights. She should be normal tomorrow. If she isn't, you need to update the vet on her condition as this would not be average.
depends on a pet,4 of mine are neuter and they passed the anesthesia differently
okay the anesthesia should enjoy worn off by now. your cat might be a little woozy, but you have need of to take her back in.
Answers: If given an intramuscular anesthesia along with the gas, which your cat was most potential given, it can take up to 24 hours to get it completely out of their system. If she still seems dizzy when you stir up tomorrow, call the vet, but otherwise, just keep her surrounded by a quiet warm place and give her time.
