How much do I nurture my cat?
my cat is 10.8 lbs. and she is rather small so i think she needs to step on a diet. we typically feed her half a can per meal(two meals a day). how much should i nurture her now to lose about a pond and a half? i exercise her a great deal. thanks for the help
the best diet for your kitty is to eat a high protein, low carb high moisture diet.. aka can food. This will help an overweight kitty get the nutrients it needs to touch full and not need to eat as much.

Before putting your cat on a diet, you need to find out if she ACTUALLY is overweight. You can do this by fancy her ribcage. If you can feel every rib and the spaces in between, her vertebrae are pronounced, and her hip bones are prominent she is undernourished. If her ribs can be felt near light pressure, and the spaces between the ribs is not easily felt, the vertebrae are not pronounced, and her hips consistency like there is some muscle over them, her weight is wonderful. If you have to squeeze her to feel her ribs, her belly hang down to the floor, and she falls over when sitting, she is obese and needs a diet. If you cannot tell, take her to the vet. The vet will know how to tell you if she needs to lose counterbalance, and the best way to achieve weight loss.
Too much shipment loss can result in a very serious illness call 'Hepatic Lipidosis' or Fatty Liver Disease. When cats lose too much weight at once, the fat can deposit in the liver, cause the liver to shut down, making the cat seriously ill or even killing the cat.
If she exercises every day, and your vet have not commented on her weight, I wouldn't worry so much about her freight.
The labels on whatever food you buy should hold that information. If not, call the Vets office, they will more than happy to supply you the recommended feeding for your particular pet based on its' age, robustness, etc...
put food out. unlike dogs, cats know when to stop eating. I enjoy 2cats, one which is 16 years old. I have donw this my cats entire life, and they are clearly healthy. There is know need to refill the food everyday. Put a big bowl of food out, and restock it every 5 days, or when it is empty
Answers: I recommend dry food. I feed my cat 1/3 of a cup twice a afternoon. It works well.
