How to convince my parents to seize me a cat?

i really want a pet of my own. we have a family dog who is three and quite spoiled. my dad doesnt really approaching cats but i have always wanted one and i reason i am old enouth to care for a pet. i am prepared to pay for adjectives its needs and it would totaly be my responsibility.
i am 16 years old and very developed for my age. i think my dog would really like another pet around the house but my mum thinks our dog wouldn't resembling it. how do i convince my parents that i am ready to look after a pet and that my dog is lonley and wants another pet to play with? i own already asked my mum a number of times an she always says no how can i bring back around this little problem?

Sounds a bit like my parents.

Like you said, you're prepared to pay for it's needs but preserve in mind that this is your parents house not yours and they don't want to have to filch care of it while you work or go away for a weekend. You will own to toilet train it, feed it, take care of it.

Having a pet is costy even for someone who muse they can afford it. Some medical bills can range from $80 and above, even exceeding $500. You will have to desex and tagged them (as within have a microchip installed so if found they can scan and return to you).

Perhaps one pet is all that your family connections can afford and they think having one pet is enough.
Your dog cannot be lonely as it is surrounded by associates and loved for. If you think it needs some attention, find some toys and items that will occupied the dog time.

Having a different pet move in when you already have a dog can be uncomfortable for your dog and they might not return with along, they might fight and get rough around the house, it is more then possible that they won't get along at all.

I'm sorry but I don't think you really hold a chance to convince your parents and I agree with their reasons that you if above. Wait till you have move out.
Tell your parents that you love very much cats and that you want a cat as christmas present.Ask them to bring you anything else and that you like awfully much to pet it and why if they have a dog bot to have a cat which requests less care and the dog will have someone to play next to
They are not entertaining your arguments, so give up. You can hold a cat when you move out in a couple of years. Cats are very different from dogs, ya know.

Your dog wouldn't be kept company by a cat in the house. Esp whether he's been King of the Hill for 3 yrs. It'll piss him off having another animal surrounded by there. If he is truly lonely you need to adopt another dog. Dogs are pack animals and benefit from being among their own.

Cats are great companions but at 16 you're not prepared to settle up for all its needs. It has vet bills, must be spayed or neuter, etc, and can cost hundreds a year. Volunteer at a cat rescue on weekends to get the kitty fix you need now, afterwards when you get your own place pick out your perfect puss. Good luck
Show them that you're responsible. And try to also let them know that you know what you're talking going on for, that it isn't just on a whim.

God bless
Answers:    what kind of dog is it? some dogs really don't like cats but some love them.. keeping a cat can get pricey.. do you hold a job or something? if you where making your own money consequently that would help..
when i wanted my cat, i just beg & begged for about 2 weeks straight, i don't know if that will work beside your p's but it did with mine. & if it doesn't work just dream up in a couple years you can move out and get as many animals as you want.

apt luck & i hope you can get one.
I think as your dog is spoiled and have all the attention now , he wouldn't be very smiling about having to share you.He might not like to play beside a cat and a cat might not like him.But if you can persuade your parents, despite adjectives this, it can be done. You'd need lots of time and patience, you'd have to save the 2 pets seperate and introduce them to each other very slowly, make certain they were fed seperately and slept in seperate rooms. So you really would necessitate your parents on your side as you won't always be at home to see to them. Both pets would need equal attention and love too.
Good luck, I know how you be aware of as I had to wait many years for a much needed cat, but the wait was worth it and as someone else said, it won't be that long at your age, until you have your own domestic and can please yourself.
Sooner than you can imagine you will be out on your own. When that time comes, then you can have your cat.

If everyone whether your home isn't in agreement about getting a cat, it really is not a great perception.

good luck!
