How to obtain cat to corner mice?

we recently found a cat and now it is our barn cat. she is about 7 months ancient. is there any way to get her to pick up the mice out there? she watches them but does not even get up. Thanks

Just leave the cat alone. It will start catching mice. Cats can't support themselves; they will all do it given the opportunity.

Answers:    Interesting, I think whether you feed your cat less it might go chase mice. Cats are born to chase mice, my cats be taken from their parent when they were little and no one taught them to chase mice. So i reflect on your cat will develop that instinct sooner or later.
