How to stop vomiting within cat?

My 1 year old cat was recently neuter, the day after the surgery he threw up but not the next one, today, 3 days latter he's been throwing up since the morning, first his food and then water, he hasn't eat all day but still drinks water. I took him to the vet and he saw no frenzy and said the surgery looks fine and gave me something for the hairballs but when I tried to feed him that he threw up again.
The vet found an ear infection which is being treated near drops. The vet said he doesn't think he needs antibiotics unless he doesn't get better contained by 2 days but I don't see him improving now. Any idea how to stop the vomiting surrounded by cats? what did you use? Thanks in advance.
Answers:    Do you think that the vomiting is related to his surgery? It seem a bit odd that he didn't start vomiting until a few days after the surgery. And with a neuter, the surgery is completely external, so it's not approaching something weird could have happened surrounded by his abdomen. But he could possibly have a delayed reaction to anesthesia. There is also a small opportunity that if he had very low blood pressures while he be under anesthesia during surgery, he might have had some kidney interfere with. Decreased kidney function will also cause vomiting. This can be checked by running blood work.

As for the vomiting itself, you should try withholding water for 6 hours and food for 24 hours. If he is vomiting a lot, he may become feeling thirst and need fluids either by IV or subcutaneously.

If you feel that you shouldn't " hang about & see" and you want to take him to a vet- do it. It's never wrong to be concerned about your little boy!
Sometimes anesthesia causes nausea but it should be over by very soon. Make sure to keep him hydrated. Try unseasoned chicken broth instead of plain water. If it's not better by tomorrow or you see signs of dehydration or slowness, he needs to go back to the vet.
