How's the best style to prevent kidney disease and Urinary tract disease?? ?

I just want to hear some answers as to how to prevent these problems in cats so they can live long healthy life's. approaching what foods to feed them and what foods not to feed them. .
Feed them wet grainless foods and hold dry food out of the picture as much as possible.

Grainless commercial canned foods are good, but raw feed is best. The closer you can get to a species appropriate food, the better.

That does the trick for most cats.
kidney disease Im not certain about, however, I have a cat (male) that was prone to urinary tract infection/blockage and I have him to the vet several times and the vet put him on prescription food which was quite costly and I did research and found that the Purina One for Urinary tract health be quite good and much better than the prescription food as far as the ingredients ...I have have him on this food for 3 yrs now and he has been sound ever since and just as a precautionary measure all my cats get through this food it comes in a 16lb bag for under $20 and they certainly enjoy it and dont ever feed your cat milk or fish even fish flavored soft/hard foods it blocks their urinary tract with the lofty magnesium that fish has in it
Answers:    Very simple answer to a great question Feed proper food for the species. That mechanism no kitty crack aka dry food, Canned foods with no grains or a raw food diet is what is best for your carnivores

Nutrition since within are so many bad things out there is thoroughly important to your cat’s health
Contrary to what you may have hear; dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.
Please read the label on what you are feed? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingrediant a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things?

Dry foods are the number 1 inflict of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, tubbiness, crystals, u.t.i’s and a host of other problems. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods. Rashes, scabs aft the tail and on the chin are all symptoms
The problems associated with Dry food is that they are loaded with grain and carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process. Also, Most of the moisture a cat needs is suppose to be in the food but surrounded by
Dry, 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Another thing, most use horrible ingredients and don't use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not angelic for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.

You want to pick a can food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn't have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients whether at all.
THE BEST CAT FOODS CONTAIN NO GRAINS NO BYPOODUCTS NO MEAL
Cats are meat eaters not cereal or rice eaters
Fancy feast is a middle grade food next to 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human characteristic foods. I would rather feed a middle grade can food then the top of the line dry food.
Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Does a hard pretzel verbs your teeth or do pieces of it get stuck? http://www.felinefuture.com/nutrition/bp...

Vetinarian diets The reason your vet think so highly of the pet food they sell probably has more to do beside money than nutrition. In vet school, the only classes offered on nutrition usually finishing a few weeks, and are taught by representatives from the pet food companies. Vet students may also receive free food for their own dogs and cats at home. They could get an Iams notebook, a Purina purse and some free pizza. http://iml.jou.ufl.edu/projects/Spring04...
Cat's are carnivores and don't do well on grains, corn, anything beside carbohydrates. They were meant to eat meat.
