I want oblige beside my hot kitten?
I am getting a new kitten 2morrow and I cant wait. Anyway I have another cat at domestic called Tommy and he was a rescue cat and has some problems. Well i've set aside my spareroom for the kitten so it can be apart from my cat for a few weeks beside some introductions during. I was just wondering if in attendance is anything I should know about about introducing the kitten to my new cat and is near anything else I should know about the kitten?
Also my cat is all up to date with his jags and the kitten is 4 months.

Keep the kitten in a room away from Tommy and they'll sniff through the door and receive a bit used to each other's scents. After a cpl weeks or so let Tommy surrounded by kitty's new room and see what happens, if there's probs after keep small kitty in room 4 longer...When they meet the scent they enjoy smeeled through the door is more familiar and less threatening.. This will work, I've introduced a totally wild 6 month antediluvian cat to another two adults (called Tommy and Smudge ;-) ) Now they all play, it may take a while but be patient and carry on. watch your resident cat for your clues on when to start introductions.
give the brush-off the kitten, praise the resident cat for any positive or even neutral behavior towards the kitten.
do the intros in a nonpartisan place. away from food, litter boxes, and favorite hang outs.
if Tommy is grumpy at the clean kitten, you can try swapping out the bedding every couple of days and letting Tommy smell it to get used the scent.
I'm also a huge fan of talking to your resident cat and explaining the situation. I know, cats don't take to mean english, but they understand you, and it does help.
if you run into problems, I significantly recommend the book Cat vs Cat. Very helpful in understanding the behaviors contained by a multiple cat home.
Answers: Well to start of near when you introduce the kitten to Tommy then put the kitten like in a pen so it wont get harmed.Or let them see eache other through glass.
Also permit the kitten smell around where Tommy has been and indistinguishable with Tommy! Just slowly introduce them gradually, and keep them seperate at dark or when you cant keep an eye on them.
But the main thing is anything you do DO NOT I reapeat DO NOT ignore Tommy, and give Tommy LOADS of love and attention.
Although dont ignore the clean kitten just not as much TLC for the first few months.
They obviously will fight in a minute and then as I have 3 cats and when we introduced the two sisters to Tootsie we gave Tootsie loads of attention. and even very soon a year or two later Tootsie stil gives them a swipe on the way departed.
Although it doesnt help that Sasha (one of the sisters) thinks all cats are friendly and get bitten by another outdoor cat :S
