I enjoy a open to the elements bellied fluffy kitten?
My roommate just got a kitten, and it is obvious it is going to be a fluffy cat, but its stomach is bare and she seems to have dandruff even. Is this any munificent of disease or does she just have dry skin? And is there a spot on shampoo or anything that can relieve her of it?
I have thoroughly checked her for fleas, and she had a flea bath past she got here.
I know it sounds weird but a cat can lick themselves when they are tentative. If someone smokes in the house she/he could be licking to get nicotine off.
I have a dog once also that licked my kittens till they lost all there fuzz. If it has flaky skin try medicated kitten shampoo.
If nothing else works take it to the vet.
If your roommate got the kitten from a Shelter, she was probably just Spayed just now - they shave the belly for that because that's where the surgery is done. The hair will grow rear legs if that's the situation.
As for dandruff, I'm guessing when she was given a flea bath, adjectives the suds didn't come out. As well, some cats have a little bit of dandruff. You can take soothing sprays for this if they itch a lot.
Answers: You don't say how old this kitten is..of late that it "is going to be a fluffy cat".
If it has just left it's mom, she may hold been "over-grooming" it, and the hair "licked" off. If nearby are no open sores, or crusty bumps, I wouldn't worry about it. Just give notice her be, and her hair will grow back.
The "flakiness" could be from the air where she lives being too dry!

Sometimes they lick the down off but you should take a new cat to the vet besides for its shots and an exam. They will help you and kitty =)
