I enjoy a two year prehistoric cat that may involve an operation...?

My vet has just told me that my cat may need an operation for a urinary infection which cause some obstruction. My cat has been to the vet three times back for the same problem. This operation seems quite fearsome to me. Do you know if this is normal? Or should I seek another solution. I am worried...
you can obtain another vet's opinion. Other than that, I don't know. Please don't procrastinate because it causes suffering for your cat.
You don't say if your cat is mannish or female., so I'm going to guess that it's male. IF your cat has be neutered & it was done before he be 7-8 months old, then that makes him prone to urinary infection & log jam & should be dealt with swiftly as it can be fatal. If none of the above assumptions are true you should catch a second opinion without rearrangement, then have the surgery done if it is needed, to prevent suffering.
Answers:    It's other a good idea to get a moment opinion on any surgery if you can.

There is an operation which removes the cat's penis and makes a larger first showing for urine flow. Apparently cats do well after this and it's not uncommon in veterinary pills.

You might go to: http://www.littlebigcat.com and read Dr. Jean Hovfe's article "Urinary Tract Disorders in Cats". Though she doesn't mention this surgery you might consider changing your cat's diet to do a proper pH of his urine and prevent the crystal formation and recurring infections.
