Is this regular for a mother cat to do?
Ok, my friend has a mother cat that gave birth to five kittens but the first two that she had be left out side still in the goo stuff. When she went out side to check on her cat she see that there was to kittens laying on the ground so she run inside to get a blanket then she picked the two kittens up and put them inside and grabbed the mother of the kittens but the mother cat didn't whip care of them. Instead she ended up eating them. :( :( :(
But that be not the first time it was actually the second time.
I know that it sounds similar to the mother cat is mean but I just wanted to know whether YOU or anyone YOU KNOW had the same problem. And if you did enjoy the same problem but with a different kind of pet please inform me.
Can happen if mom didn't want or know there was something wrong with the kittens. My daughter's cat eat her babies, all the way up to weaning if not watch carefully. Some cats, like other species, are not meant to be moms and should be spayed.
It happens. Some speculate that the reason is that the mother senses something wrong with the kittens. It may a short time ago be that cats are dumb animals and the kittens smelled yummy when she was hungry. Ew.
Answers: its happened to me before. my cat ate her kittens too. most of the time its because the momma cat is hungry and sees her kittens as food. other times the momma know that either the kittens are dead or will die soon. so, its all conventional.
yea our pet rabbits did that but than we figure out they needed a special box to have there babies in
