Is my cat a Diabetic?

He has been losing a tremedouse amount of weight, he is in the order of 18, and he has been drinking alot of water lately too. He throws up most of his food roughly once every 1 1/2 weeks. He is a male, his name is Spike, and he is a White Domestic Shorthair.
Go to the vet
The longer you wait for a vet to check him, the worse it gets.

He could be diabetic (a urine oral exam will tell that in 15 minutes) or he could have failing kidneys (which are totally treatable whether you catch it fast). He could be hyperthyroid also--which is also treatable.

I have one of each cat. My thyroid cat costs $35 a month for her medication. My kidney cat merely has to get a half pill a daytime, which runs me $10 for a bottle of 100 pills (it'll take us through over half the year). The costs on my diabetic cat, now that he's steady, break down to $14 a month with the insulin and syringes.

Get yours in to a vet before he's too far gone to serve. There's no excuse to wait on this. ANY cat loosing a huge amount of weight should be immediately checked soon as you identify there's weight missing.
Answers:    You are describing some symptoms of a diabetic - which by the way can commonly be controlled with medication if acted upon quickly. But they are also signs of other things as ably - such as kidney disease and or some cancers.
Only a full medical check up will tell you for sure.
Best of luck. At 18 you must be doing something right so do not frenzy before checking it out. xoxo
it might be diabetic, but the only way 2 find out is to bargain to ur vet. also, try 2 look these symtoms up on the computer.u'll get more answers from there
More than likely, but it could also be kidney or liver related. You requirement to take kitty to the vet asap. A few simple tests will let you know for certain. My cat is diabetic, its very serious if not treated so get him surrounded by right away
one word VET.
Mind Games for Kitty?   Is something wrong beside her?   Now, more or less that kitten? (Names)?   Indoors Cats are not mentally respectable, Do you agree?
