Is rice discouraging for a cat?
My cat goes ballistic meowing and begging whenever I cook rice. I give him his ordinary cat food but he seems to *really* like plain brown or white rice. I give him a tiny bit, but am wondering whether even a little bit is bad for him? Cats are carnivores and I've never had one similar to this one.
Hi there, my cat like rice too ! In fact, she likes to try to eat anything that I'm ingestion. Her favourite is crisps! I don't think giving them a little bit of rice would do them any impair ! My cat is 18 years old now and it's never done her any harm !
rice is not bad for him... but too mch rice( carbohydrate ) might brand name him little chubby.( just like us) i have a cat ( 9yrs old) hes is generally fed rice and a fish speciallly cooked for him. we dnt giv him processed food. he has been on this diet for his complete life ( some times chicken instead of fish) n he is unussally big than other cats... hes a normal breed ( english tabby) but is bigger than any other cat of his breed...so dnt worry whether ur cat likes rice.but yes u can always talk 2 ur vet n achieve an opinion if u want.
Answers: A little bit is ok if you have already determined it agrees with your individual kitty's system. But too much can produce constipation. It will also fill them up so they may not want to eat their regular diet that contains all of the essential nutrients they need. And lastly, it can cause weight gain whether fed in large quantity.
But a little bit is usually fine. xoxo
A little bit presently and again won't hurt him.
My kitten goes ballistic for tortilla chips. Go figure?
