Is this average for my kitten? ?
Earlier today I fell asleep on my bed, when I woke up my kitten was gone. So I went to look for him and he be in my mother's room, just sitting there smoothly. He seems to be more attracted to my mothers room these days.
He was orphaned at only just even 2 weeks and he's almost 10 weeks now. I was the solitary one who took care of him, day and night. Now that he's grown up he's starting to be increasingly independent. Which is fine, but it scares me a little, for the last 6 or 7 weeks my room be his world that's all he knew. Now he's exploring more and more.
I only just don't understand why he wasn't in the room with me, why he departed. He still does, sometimes, come for attention but only b/c he wants to play, when he was younger he would trickle asleep in my arms purring. Am I being overly dramatic here or what's going on? Advice?
my cat does that, too. she goes wherever is the warmest or whoevers door is unfurl.
Keep in mind that cats are nocturnal animals. Once you've fall asleep, it's not going to be unusual for him to come and go and explore his larger world. Your kitten still loves you bunches, but has this unbroken new world to explore on his terms. Nightfall is going to be an active time for a kitten -- modern sights, new smells, and new places to cat nap as very well.
You're being overly dramatic. Let the cat be. He will find his own existence on his own. If you wanted a room mate, you should have gotten a dog.
When we first get my cat she would sleep with me always, then she started sleeping surrounded by my daughters room, then back to me, then stern to her and so on! They are fickle little things, wouldn't worry about it too much.
i say this all the time but... cats are not dogs, they do what they want to do. stop taking it personally when your cat act independently. that is their nature and if you want an animal that will follow you around and sleep within the same place every night get a dog.
Cats are just fussy things, they always move around the house and find new sleeping spots, try shifting your covers or put a new cat bed in your room for him to explore.
Answers: My cat tends to do this when he requests it to be completely silent while he's taking a nap. However, sometimes he sleeps in my bed or on the couch surrounded by the living room. Maybe your cat is exploring your house and finding new things to do around it. I wouldn't be too worried about it, however, be careful roughly speaking where he goes so he doesn't get caught onto something or chew on an electrical telecommunication. That is my biggest fear.
Its normal. Cats are essentially curious and they love to explore new places.
It's normal...your kitten is purely becoming more independent. My cat Princess was very affectionate when I first get her but as she got older she came to me smaller amount. She's still sweet but nothing like how she was when she be little.
