Is this really the best food for my cat?

I have a cat and I feed him science diet dry and can food. Is science diet really one of the best cat foods that i can feed my cat. The justification why I'm asking this is because there are a lot of foods out there and i want to form sure that I'm feeding him a good brand. Thanks hope you can minister to out.
I don't have an idea that Science Diet is really all that great, and you are right that there are a lot of great other option out there. Give Taste of the Wild a try - it is grain-free and doesn't have the fillers that a lot of other brands enjoy. It's a very good food!
I don't really like the science diet food. We use it at the shelter I work in and alot of the animals don't even like it. I have my cats on it when they were little and they ate it, but it left their coat really rough and dry. Once I switched their food, their coat became really shiny and they looked greatly healthier. I feed them Purina Indoor Cat Chow. I hear a lot of apt things about purina and iams.. but in the end, it's up to you!
Answers:    Nope... Science Diet is pretty much a bag of cheap fillers and you could choose way better!

Cats were never designed to eat dry food, also known as cereals or kibble. We, humans, take home them eat it for convenience to us. It has nothing to do beside them or their nutritional needs. It's completely species inappropriate.

All small domestic cats descended from desert cats. In the wild, desert cats derive their entire solution intake from their prey. They do not have a thirst mechanism because they don't need it when ingestion a species appropriate diet. They get all they need from what they munch through. Additionally water was usually not available to them contained by their desert climate. So they do not often drink water. Regular ol' house cats have descended from those same blustery desert cats.

So in a home environment, your kitty does not get the moisture it requests from dry food and it’s almost always in a fixed state of dehydration. Water fountains are encouraged to TRY to get your cat to drink more and your kitty may even enjoy it, but it will never come across its water intake needs drinking from a bowl.

Deadly feline illnesses such as diabetes, kidney anticlimax, obesity, allergies, Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD), constipation, bladder stones, kidney stones, urinary tract blockages and Urinary Tract Infections (FLUTD), with and without stony crystals run rampant these days. Cats are not taking in enough hose to stave them off. Proper water intake through a species appropriate diet alone can prevent most of these conditions.

Overall, wet is adjectives around better for any cats diet, be it canned or Raw and they should never be fed dry cereal kibble if we will to most closely match their wild nutritional and dietary needs. Kibble meet our needs… not our cats.

I recommend varying the diet with a constant rotation of 2 to 4 different brands of canned foods that your cat enjoy. If you do this, and allow your cat the same assortment they would have in character when eating mice, bugs, birds and rabbits, your cat’s digestive system won't be so sensitive and you won't have to run around looking for a specific brand when your store is out. You will have a nice choice to choose from instead.

Canned foods I recommend you consider for your rotation:
