Kitten have soft lump on stomach that moves when touched?

A new kitten I have has a small, soft lump on his stomach. When I touch it, it moves to another location and then is hard to find. Sometimes I can find it and sometimes I can't. If I wait, it ends up final around the middle of his belly. I have taken him to the vet and the vet tech found it, but the vet couldn't find it--as I said, once it is touched it moves and is hard to find again. Any planning what this could be?
It's probably a hernia. It should move about away as the cat gets older. If you see it again and it grows or the kitten whimper when you touch it, take him back to the vet.
I wouldn't worry it sounds like a hernia from when the kitten was born. I simply adopted a new kitty that has like thing. As your kitty grows older it will go absent.

Small umbilical hernias may close spontaneously in young animals. Spontaneous closure may occur up to 6 months of age.

Some small umbilical hernias may not be repaired and pets may live their entire lives beside them without any problem.

Larger hernias should be repaired. This repair is commonly performed at the time of the spay or neuter surgery since the pet will be already anesthetized. The surgery consists of manually reducing the contents of the hernia into the tummy followed by the surgeon making an incision over the hernial sac. The border tissue of the hernia is removed and the abdominal wall is closed. This surgery is fairly routine. The location of the surgery for an umbilical hernia is very close to the location in which an incision is made contained by the body wall for a "spay" procedure in a female. For this reason, most adjectives umbilical hernias, regardless of size, may be repaired at the same time as the spay in female pets
NO!
but please
get that fixed..
it might die..
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
get it fixed..:(
Sounds like something living whether it reacts to touch!
Might be a parisite or something like that.
Take it to the vet and don't allow anyone to touch it before mitt so the vet can see it.
Bott flies lay eggs under the skin... and the larva moves but is not quite like that.

WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU FIND ! e-mail me!
having a kitten? lol a tape worm? a bug? ask the cat! =]

oh and thats wierd!
could be a hernia sometimes kittens and sometimes puppies get them when the mom tosses them approximately chewing their cord when first born. It's okay it will go away and you'll never notice it be ever there

Could be a quantity of things- a bug, or it could be what my friend's cat has: a fat deposit- it's very soft and can be sturdy to find. However, I'd go back to the vet and would have the vet try to find it, and not will until they do- that way you can know for sure what it is.
Maybe some munificent of bug within the fur or skin?
Answers:    It sounds like an "umbilical hernia". This happens when a mama (usually first time mama) chews off the cord too close to the stomach. The cord slips inside and the hole never completely closes, so the intestines "pooch out" sometimes. It's not painful, and when you take him to be neuter, the vet can repair the hernia while he's under the anesthetic.

This is what my vet did when he neutered one of my kittens, whose mom had done this. No problem.

Hope this help..Good luck.
