My kitten's eye is infected and swollen shut.?
... I did take her to the vet and he prescribed an oral antibiotic as well as one that I put in her eye. We give her the meds before leaving the office. But as I go to put more of the gel in her eye just now a moment ago touching the area caused a clear liquidy substance to squirt out at me. I called the vet clinic and vanished them a message to call me back. I am just wondering whether this comes with the territory or if i have need of to see another vet and have them check it out.

How old is she? It could be an infection, or microbes. Antibiotics should clear it up, but if she has allergies, you may need to yak to your vet about that, and she will most likely have to stay on antibiotics (if it's allergies). Wipe her eyes near a clean WHITE soft cloth when the liquid comes out. The antibiotics should clear it up, but it will take time.
CALL ANOTHER VET> Better safe than sorry. There is a markedly high chance that the eye has ruptured and the fluid that come out is from behind the eye itself. Do not wait.

the gooey substance that came out was probably tears if not consequently it was pus
if it was tears (clear) try again your cats eye be just a little irritated
if it be pus ( not see through) i would recommend calling another vet - just for advice
Answers: With an eye infection, there will be some pus. If you gently wipe the kittens eye near a soft cloth moistened with warm water in the past you put the medication on the eye, this will help clean it. It's going to take a few days, but I'm certain your kitten will be better soon. Good job for taking her to the vet BEFORE you asked questions on this site.
If the eye is swollen shut, it could of late be pus. I would give an emergency vet a call if you can't return with through to yours, it should be free and they can advise you best.
kittens are prone to eye infections when they are immature warm water helps to clear the infected nouns. and i am certain its not a territory thing, i would appointment another vet if it doesn't clear up in the next few days.
