Need some more comfort beside my sick kitten, can anyone sustain?
ok so my kitten ,Meco is very sick with pneumonia,i've been giving her fluid threw a dropper (small one, she's just 7 maybe 8 wks)anyway is there a way to bequeath her to much?
and is it ok that she won't eat for me no matter what i try.please understand she's be to the vets, and they were great but really busy, and i forgot to ask these interview.i was just glad to hear she was going to be ok,beside a little xtra TLC.
Didn't your vet tell you how much fluid to give her? I would think you should distribute her fluid quite often. Use your best judgment. Also, whether she isn't eating and she is getting really listless, you need to take her vertebrae to the vet and possibly need to feed her via feeding tube. I have to do that with one of our little kittens who wouldn't nurse. The vet is your best guide here. Good luck.
These are adjectives fantastic answers, just be sure she doesn't inhale the solution into her lungs. I would think the more liquid and food you can get within her, the better.
I had a 3 week old kitten with aspiration pneumonia, and even though he be sick, he would still grab on the bottle and drink the formula as fast as he could, so he still aspirated the formula. We had comparatively a battle with him, but he finally got the suspend of it. Thank goodness for a great Vet, because now he is a huge, happy 13 year aged !
Good Luck, and lots of prayers..

Answers: She must eat, or she won't make it. You want to syringe feed her, the same way that you're giving her the wet. Ideally you should go to the vet and get some canned A/D or Royal Canin Recovery diet, and an oral syringe. They will contribute you instructions on how much and how often to feed her. If you can't run to the vet, get an oral syringe from the drug store, and some chicken baby food (the junior meat) from the grocery store. Gently syringe the food into her mouth. Aim for a jar, preferably two, of the baby food per afternoon. Hopefully once the antibiotics kick in, she will eat on her own.
cant say i know how much is too much...but id own to think a few drops a few times aday will be fine. anyways shell probably be feeling better soon and shell begin to put away and drink on her own. im so glad you took baby kitten to the vet..take care!
