PLEASE HELP! Lost kitty! What are my likelihood on finding my kitty / relief finding it?
I live in a small neighborhood. It is mainly two long roads that are connected by a small road. Then there are several other small roads and culs-de-sac around. I would influence around one hundred houses are here. It is not like a forest here, just flowers and small trees. There is a pathway which leads to another, much larger neighborhood. Then here is a road which leads to a line of trailers and another neighborhood. I doubt she is beyond that area.
My cat is immature. She is around three years, maybe older. She has other lived inside, yet had a slight interest for the outdoors. I would occasionally let her out on the screen in porch, while I was watching, to quench her curiosity.
She is immediately missing. Monday night I could not find her. My parents and I searched every crevice surrounded by the house. We searched everywhere, from the wide open living room, to the smallest closet. Even the attic and beneath our porches.
There is NO WAY she is inside this house.
I doubt she would want to stay out. It has been cold (Not freezing cold. It has be jacket or sweater weather.) and rainy (Not pouring, but drizzly. Just enough for the cat to realize, "Holy crap, that is sea!")
I have set out 'Lost Cat' posters at every house's mailbox. 'Reward if found' is boldly printed on it.
I doubt she ran absent. It is probably curiosity. She loves me. I always have fresh food and water setting out, and verbs her cat box every other day (Which is enough, since she is the only cat and it is a big box). I play with her and brush her. She is allowed to sleep anywhere she wants, as well. Generally explicitly my pillow, so I have to sleep without it. If anything, she is spoiled, NOT abused.
What do you think my probability of finding her are? What are other good things to do? I heard cats remember where near home is and will return to it. We have another cat. One day, we moved to a hot house. It was about five miles away from our older one and our other cat walked back to our old house a week after we moved. Can cats remember where on earth they live?
Sorry if I seem like I be ranting, but I am really nervous and scared. I am afraid she is out there: cold, afraid, showery, and alone. Or worse.
I know you must be frantic right now..I would be too. Sorry you can't find your kitty. I hope she finds her way home..sounds resembling she's very loved. I have heard that cats own a great inner compass and can find their way home. Say a prayer that she will be returned safely. Sorry:(
my daughter's cat was lost for 8 months and just showed up the other day as chubby as ever. Just make certain the word is out and keep positive call the pounds and SPCA incase someone found her and turned it in. Keep positive I am certain she will find her way home,
Answers: Don't give up hope yet. Never underestimate how much having a domestic territory means to a cat. It's the source of all the things they requirement to survive, so they won't abandon it without honourable reason. You'll have noticed how she rubs her cheeks against everything contained by the home, and they've also got scent glands on their paws, so it's her sense of smell that will oblige guide her home. Can you leave something hanging on a wash line outside that has any her scent or yours on it?
Make sure that neighbours check their sheds, garages and any other outside buildings as she may be hiding or have get locked in somewhere by accident. If you haven't already done so, contact local vets and animal shelters lately in case anyone has taken her in that. Ask local shops, church halls, petrol stations etc., if they will display your "lost cat" poster, and it's worth giving one to the mailman as they may be willing to keep hold of an eye out for her.
A couple of months ago I moved from an apartment to a house and during the first week my previously indoor only cat went AWOL sometime during the night. (She'd figure out how to open the door to the bedroom balcony). I spent a frantic 24 hours searching everywhere for her and couldn't understand how she'd vanished into sinewy air. When I heard cats fighting external in the early hours of the morning I rushed outside within the hope it was her. It wasn't, but I spotted her face at the window of a neighbour's domestic. He had no idea that she'd been near the whole time. She must have sneaked in when he open his patio door to let his own cat out, and had be avoiding him the whole 24 hours she was there.
I sincerely hope that you find her locked and well very soon. Good luck.
Well don't give up. Do you think she was going contained by any neighbors yards? A neighbor dumped my cat cause he was peeing contained by the guys flower bed. We found this out cause another neighbor told us that he "bragged" about dumping our cat.
I got my cat vertebrae after he was missing almost 3 months. He be tagged. He was dumped a distance from my home but on his route back he was found and fed by a feral cat feeder. She be feeding and attempting to catch him for 2 months. She finally gained his trust satisfactory to see my phone number on his tag!
Anyhow , don't lose hope yet. See if you can catch out and talk to people in the neighborhood. Visit some local vet ( leave picture/ flyer) check the animal shelter daily.Read the lost and found ads day after day. Place one yourself. Place them every few weeks till she is found or reasonable amount of time.
Also see if you and a family branch can go out side and call her late at dark or very early AM when it's very whispered. Walk around the neighborhood gently calling her. In the calm / quiet may come out of hiding.
Good luck and don't furnish up.
she could be sleeping under a blanket somewhere. hopefully, she will come out of hiding. put food out by the door you estimate she went out, that will get her attention if she is out near.
