RSPCA getting involved?

hello everybody, i have a cat who recently went lost over night, he usually goes out surrounded by the day but never at night so i knew something be wrong, the next morning me and my partner went looking for him and found him in a neighbours garden incompetent to jump he fence, went we get him home we noticed he had a stagger, was not eating and was fairly lathargic so the next day we took him the vets ( we do not own pet insurence) she had a look and noticed he had cut his leg underneath ( the garden have coniffers surrounding the fence so i think he may have get tangled up) so she shaved the area to look and gave him sum anti0biotics and give us a 40 pound bill, the receptionist gave us an estimate for the nextday for almost 200 pond for xray, sedation, maybe stiches ect which we could not afford and she be also funny with us asking for paying in instalments because we are not on benefits :S, we cancelled our appointment for the next light of day because we decided to see how he goes and we would take him rear legs if there was no expansion and try to raise the money, anyway 6 days later and he is fine, he lost his dull the day after visiting the vets ( i mull over the dried blood on his leg was pullin on his fur) he is eating, drinking and jumping around as usual. besides we received a call off the RSPCA yesterday telling us that they own been contact by the vets as they are 'concerned' about his welfare and that in attendance maybe underlying issues which need to be adressed! we rang the vet and they told us they have been trying to contact us (not had 1 missed call) because of procedure and we told them my cat be fine and that was it.an hour later the RSPCA called again requesting a drop by this morning which is what i am waiting for...my cat is the most loved cat ever, at the moment he is sprawled out on the sofa like a king lol all that happened be that he fell off a fence, so why are they speaking to us as if we are abuse him? what will happen on this visit and was the vet right to phone call the RSPCA for such a minor thing??
they are probably just coming out to have a look and brand name sure the cat is okay and is not suffering in pain.
Once they see him they will leave your job you alone,
OR
they are going to push the issue and tell you not taking the cat back is neglect and cruelty and constraint that you take him back to the vet or try to take the cate absent.
it depends on how your RSPCA is run and if they are real jerks in the order of this type of thing. Good Luck and give an update please??
NOW is a good time to permanently sort your cat an indoor cat. He will be safer from accidents, abuse by strangers, not get bitten by a cat near a fatal disease, not get hit by a car. Get him cat trees, pass him extra attention, play with him, lots of cozy window sitting room and he will be safe and happy. If he wants out train him to stroll on a leash or forget it.
Answers:    If the vet thinks a cat is in peril or not being cared for properly they have every right to telephone the RSPCA. Especially when you deny the animal the care it obviously needed. Why do you allow your cat to run around outdoors where injury is far more feasible when you can't afford a $200 vet bill? How can you expect a vet to agree with accepting payments? What's their recourse if you don't pay? Repo the cat?

And how is the cat mortal injured a "minor thing"? Obviously it wasn't or the vet wouldn't have called them. If you acted like you thought it be "nothing" at the vets maybe that's why the vet called them.

Hopefully presently you'll realize how dangerous it is to allow your cat to free roam. And I'd seriously having this pet. Pets are a responsibility - not a right. And if you can't afford to exactness for an animal when its sick and injured then you shouldn't have that pet at all.

expurgate: if a vet thinks a cat needs stitches NOW how is going to a vet "surrounded by the future" help?
Amazing!

Firstly, use another vet...don't give that one your money.

Secondly, update the RSPCA where to get off. I've no time for them.they never want to do anything that requires genuine work.

They have no jurisdiction over you at all.as long as you are not ill treating your cat they hold no power in any way.

If they visit insist they draw from a police officer with a warrant to enter your property.
I've just come in at the cease of your story and am glad the RSPCA visit went well and that your cat is OK. What I can't make out is the vet giving him so much treatment, asking you to pay, and then sending him home need more treatment.Surely if he was needing that much more, costing so much, they should own kept him in !
In a way it's good the vet are checking on animals as it could have someone neglecting their pet,but it must have be awful for you and your partner who do look after your cat properly !
Definately change your vets for the adjectives !
Lol.. funny how the RSPCA works.

I move about for a jog and I find a cat dangerously skinny, cyst the size of a golf ball on his cheek, plagued next to fleas and couldn't even breathe or eat.

I call the RSPCA, no help in that.
I beg and plead and cry... they tell me to take him to the vet, adjectives bills paid.

I GO to the vet, they were angry with the RSPCA.
THEY beckon the RSPCA and have a heated word.. and then the RSPCA decide to return with me to take the cat to their veterinary facility, tell me they will fix the cat, tell me to bid back the next day.

I do.. Oops, RSPCA is engaged, they will call back.
No return calls.
I telephone the day after. Same answer.

I still have no idea what happen to the cat.
Bastards.

The RSPCA really need to figure out what the fck they are doing.

I hate them surrounded by a way.
Well, hopefully you have learnt one lesson here - you really should obtain pet insurance - what if he had been run over by a motor? It could have cost an awful lot more.

Don't worry in the region of the RSPCA too much. Have a good clean healthy house a pleased cat and an explanation and they should be happy.

I would write a letter to the vets requesting the date and times of these alleged call to you. You can point out that you feel they over reacted causing you a large amount of stress and anxiety. Change vets.

Were they right to do it? If they really didn't try to call you, they were wrong - but as you love your cat, you will read between the lines they are simply trying to ensure a cat is looked after.

Also, your cat may seem fine (and you will most likely know) but there could be internal bleeding or something.

Best of luck
Wow, your local RSPCA is a lot more attentive than mine - we reported forsaken cats, and the RSPCA didn't do anything aside from put a sticker on the gate of the abandoned house!

I wouldn't worry approximately it at all - since you look after your cat, the RSPCA will see he's fine.
I am totally amazed that the vet called the RSPCA. It may be that there has be a lot of animal abuse in your nouns.

Don't worry about the visit, once they see the condition of the cat adjectives will be well.

Take care.
The RSPCA will check how your cat is and yes the vet was right to call them. Vets have a duty to contact them whether they are concerned about a animal welfare they have seen and they contemplate needs treatment and maybe not getting the medical help it wishes. When the limp was better the next daylight it would have been a good belief to contact them to let them know. They only had the best interest surrounded by the welfare of your cat as you say you do. Vets see all kinds of pet owners out near some who don't care if there pets are strength or in pain . It shows that your vet practice is a good one who attention about the animals they see. It would be a good idea to obtain some pet insurance for your cat it not that expensive and you may need it one day.
Lately my cat have be doing grotesque things lend a hand me?   Heavy breathing surrounded by 5 month kitten, what could it be? is it serious?   I inevitability cat experience for this.?   Which one did you presume would win?
