Trying to opt between two cat name?
I have a new cat and have two name I'm thinking of naming him. Either Apollo or Strider.
I like them for different reasons.
Apollo: Greek God of the sun, fits with the cat's appearance, as he is a spotted bengal and have a glittery coat. But I'm not sure about the moniker because it has three syllables and I'm not sure if it would be too not easy to say repeatedly, as well as for the cat to respond to.
Strider: Has two syllables, so it's easier to read aloud. But I don't know the cat's personality yet, so I don't know if it would fit this nickname. Although it is the name of a person (in Lord of the Rings), so maybe that wouldn't event too much.
Which one do you prefer? If you had a cat with a longer name (more than two syllables) do you shorten it or option it was shorter?
I like Apollo better.
I like the name Apollo better. I have a cat named Marshmallow (I would never chose that name now, but I be nine when I named her) and I usually called her Marshy instead, so whether abbreviating bothers you, Strider might be a better choice. In my experience, a name usually comes to fit an animal resourcefully, and you will feel comfortable calling him whatever you decide past long.
i love strider great name .i have 3 cats maddy i phone her fat cat..lol chester hes our old grouch and then in that is the kitten paige i call her paigerella lol so it all depends on the cat and there attitudes i dont conjecture any 2 cats are the same
I resembling Apollo.
Don't worry about the syllables, my cat's name is Oliver, and self Greek we keep calling him even longer names, like Oliveropoulos, Oliveraki, etc., and he uunderstands enormously well.
Oh, BTW, don't change the name of a bright God into Pollo (=chicken contained by Italian) or Polly or anything like this!
I reckon Apollo sounds cuter because its more of a cat name u know what i mean?
I certainly prefer Apollo, but you might like to watch his behaviors for awhile and then nickname him. I don"t believe the cat will notice the amount of syllables as you do.
I close to both too, i had a cat called Orlando and i never had problems near it having 3 syllables, my other cat's names are Oscar and Lunar! Good luck choosing!
Apollo. Cute and suits him.
Also cats can more easily recognise their names whether they end in a vowel sound, a, e, i, o or u.
Answers: Strider!
Strider, easy to remember, cute identify, and only two syllables.
Apollo is good name because rationale is Greek God of the sun, fits with the cat's appearance, as he is a spotted Bengal and has a glittery coat.
Strider. If your cat likes running. If she likes sit and sleep Apollo.
strider is extremely unique, id go beside that one.
Strider sounds really cool! Do it! Do it very soon! Just do it!
Wait a little longer to discover your cat's personality. My cat is named Thomas which is assured for me to remember for reasons I wont state here, but when we first got our kitty, I did not know what to name it and he in fact had two other names that we tried out. Thomas fits him very all right.
As for three syllable names, you are correct in your belief that the longer label would probably get shortened. Most people use one or two syllables for their pet names.
Apollo can be shortened to Polly.
Apollo
I like Stryder.
Always did.
:)
Go with Apollo.. And you could shorten Apollo to Pollo.. All my cats have longer name but we shorten them.. "Posey Parker" call her Poe.. He'll learn his name no situation what it is! :)
i like Strider ^_^
